So..thats it, I need a car I was thinking I wanted an RSX again, but since they are getting really hard to find and its really expensive to insure I've decided against it.

What kinda cars are out there that I should look at? Here are my criteria...

I prefer imports..japanese/euro..yar..doesnt HAVE to be, but I'd really have to be impressed.

I'd like it to be either new..or used (low mileage good condition - factory certified or warranty if possible)

$18k to $28k price range...

Small cars are good, something that handles well is nice too..if it has an aftermarket, even better..here is what I've looked at so far. I also prefer manuals to automatics.

2003/2004 A4 1.8t quattro - nice car, the 2 I drove today were beat to SHIT not really an option..

2004 Accord V6 (EX) 2dr - 5sp..it was a very nice car, tempted by it, but again, the paint was kinda fuX0red, small dents all over, trunk looked like someone had been murdered in it..

Looked at a few new civics..decided they are ugly as hell..I'd consider a new Si perhaps, but there are none around..and those that are around..are really marked up..*yawn*

Sat in an RX-8..they both had sunroofs, I am a tall mofo and could "barely" get in that car without hitting my head, and when I was in there, there is no clearance at all..didnt like that. Didnt really want to drive it even.

What else is out there that I should consider? Anyone want to throw some other options out there? I'd like something thats not "horrible" to insure as well if possible..the RSX was bad news..(see other thread) I'd rather not go there if I didnt have to.

Thanks in advance!

the TSX's are really nice and close to the RSX.

E46 BMW? Their prices have dropped the past year when the e90 models came out. If you were checking out rx8's, i suppose a rwd car wouldn't be a problem for the winter, plus i'm not as tall as you, but i fit pretty well in the 3 series. And james is looking the e46 ///M's and he says he fits pretty well in it as well.

I like the TSX but its too big! Besides I'd think of Jen every time I drove the thing and I'd have to stab myself before getting in!

Not real well. :( I'd also like something a "little" more practical than that..since I wont have garage space for a 2nd beater and I have to drive whatever I get to and from work every day. The del Sol isnt real practical either, but on the other hand..I didnt really care if it gets the crap kicked out out of it driving back and forth to work.

If you get something that is a few years old you get a lot more for the price. There is always the Inpreza TR and there EVO. But there is also the idea of importing a car, If you are paying 20k, you might like to get something from japan, Like a Silva, FTO, Skyline or something like that.

Well..I ended up getting an A4 they had one at the audi dealership in Boulder that was VERY clean, reasonable price, and low milage. I'll make sure and take some pictures tomorrow when I get to spend some "quality time" with it. :)

Heh..well I ended up getting a really clean A4 for $22k and they were able to get me financing (despite my bankruptcy) that was very good. I'm really happy with the car so far, need to get a few things done to it, and it will be a very nice ride for a few years I think. :)
