Are VW gti 1.8t's good? How reliable are they? Anyone has good experiences with VW?

I've heard good things about them, I drove one and I liked it a lot.

yea they are good, they're just a lil different cuz you need a chip to add power because they dont like boost controllers and they also dont like BOV's because supposibly it runs too rich with one. So a chip and diverter valve are the best way to go i guess.

I've heard half and half to be honest. Some people can't stand the cost of parts and the lack of service they recieve. But, from the people that work on their own cars, supposedly they'll take care of you, if you take care of them.

Gotta run lots of boost to make power. But then again, those 1.8 blocks can take alot of boost.
