View Full Version : Longmont is king of rice

I am new here but I have a new Nissan SE-R (5 speed) and I am soo tired of these ricey guys driving their cars all fast and switching lanes like they are fast and furious. They act all fast buy when it comes down to racing at a light, they will go as slow as possible. Grr....Just had to vent, but here in Longmont all we have are 86" Prelude SI's thinking they are as fast as new ones.

I used to live in Longmont and I still go back often... It's just full of F&F wannabes. Most of the imports in Longmont that are actually fast are just nitrous bottles on wheels, just like in the movie.
There are some pretty quick Civics, but most of the imports up there are all show and no go. Lots of riceboy exhausts that needlessly amplify the engine noise so people will think it's more powerful than it really is. Midas' chop-off-the-muffler-and-replace-it-with-a-big-ass-obnoxious-tip is a big seller. And who doesn't love those LED nozzle "pisser" lights? ;gay;
I especially like when domestic guys make fun of the riced out imports, when they are even more guilty of being a riceboy themselves. You don't have to drive an import to be a riceboy.

EXACTLY! My friends and I are the only ones who notice this. One of my friends has a 92' Galant VR-4 that is easily in the low 13's and another friend of mine just had a supercharger put on his Civic. I am the only one N/A and it sucks. But I am still faster than most of these fools here. And yes, the domestic crowds are the ones with the Jensen subs in the back with a big bottle in the back. I am sorry but bottles are for babies

Exactly... I know some people who say the exact same phrase. That's one of the few things I agree with them about.

Haha, I unfortunately have to drive through Longmont 4 days a week and see tons of rice each way...

What color is your Type R? Yellow? Black? I see one on Hover once in awhile

Check my Sig;)
It's Black, stock appearance except for 15% tint. I'm on Hover occassionally during the week.

I see one yellow one around Longmont sometimes, a younger looking guy drives it.

Lots of R sightings in Longmont. I've seen a yellow R more times than I can count. It used to be parked off 9th ave near the car wash east of Collyer like every day. Not sure if it still is though. I've also see a white R a couple of times. And I saw a black R going east on Nelson road towards Airport road a few days ago at around 6pm (+/- an hour or so), I wonder if it was #700.

Yeah I see that black one once in awhile and that yellow one on 9th. But lately it hasn't been there, but a 240sx is there now. I hope he didn't sell a Type R for the 240 unless he puts an sr20-DET in there.

Yeah the black one around Nelson/Airport was me for sure. I drive in that direction quite a bit. There is definately atleast one yellow R in Longmont too. I used to see another black one while back that had altezza's on it:(
M
You guys happen to know a kid here in Longmont that has a Turbocharged Green 4door GSR?
Ding SE-R
06-28-2002, 09:21 AM
Yeah, I'm friends with him. He ran a 14.3 at bandimere. He has a t3/t4 hybrid running 6 lbs of boost. Thats not much boost with such a big turbo and huge intercooler. My friend in the galant beat him but that GSR is nice.

you drive near my house then, Mt. View avenue, and airport road :)
and the owner of the GSR's name is Brad, he lives right behind me, I play hockey with him :D

If you play hockey with Brad, you must know one of my best friends. His name is Luke. He has a 95' accord with altezza tails and some new projectors. He just bought adjustable shocks, pulleys, and other ricey stuff that doesn't add much performance.

Hmm. Actually some of the best racing I've had has been with some Longmont people. Not the F&F crowd, but the real car guys...

It's hard to find those guys with all the kids thinking their N/A 3k GT is as fast as as a 300hp DSM. B20, isn't your brother the guy with the B16 CRX? I met him with Eloy and some other guy with a 200sx SE-R but he put spec-v badges on it. "usuk:

Yeah it is. He said he just got a turbo for it, but his engine is pretty high in miles. My car is white with the sentra badge taken off the back.

I'll keep an eye out for you. No, mines not a spec v. Once I really looked into it, the only thing I liked that it has is the LSD. The seats suck, and since I will be getting new tires and rims, the 17"s would be a waste of money. The 6 speed helps in auto xing, but who actually autocrosses that much? Anyways, if I auto-x, I would have gotten a Type R or something. But I love my car. I work in the mall so its always parked outside there by the theater.

Ding, are you the same cat that was looking at an OZ lancer? If so let's run the Spec-V versus my OZ. Jason-303-332-5497. Yellow Lancer with hood scoop in LG.
Yes it's full of rice, but at least people are into their cars here. You can go to Boulder and find many more boring stock cars.

Yeah I am. I was about to order one but the sales guys pissed me off so much, that I walked out on them. On my way home, I stopped at Nissan and said "mitsu has the lancer for 16k, what do you got to compete". Well, I fell in love. But I still want an EVO as soon as I finish school......2 more years!
