Stop being posers and sign your ass up for something like this...

Both the BMW Club (http://www.rmcbmwcca.org) and NASA (http://www.nasarockymountain.com) offer this.

I took my 540i Sport out to Second creek once.

Tracked nice very little body roll nice big brakes, great torqe on exit, but it was no comparison to my Z.
Still had a ton of fun tho and I was the quickest 3900 pound sedan(and the only:p )

We should get into 2nd Creek and run a couple laps. I drove by there yesterday and the track is still in decent condition. Only the parking area is overrun by weeds.

I'd be down for something like that. I've never taken my car to a road course and that's where she does best.

if the track is closed, and we are on it, its considered trespassing... not to mention if someone gets hurt, there is no insurance on the track

Thus why I was asking...

I'm pretty sure if someone was to get hurt on the track even while it was open nobody's insurance would do much.

:werd:

The insurance situation would be the same as an open track day such as a Test & Tune, as in, there is no insurance. The track will not cover you for injury or vehicle damage, and most car insurance companies wont either. Your personal medical coverage is all that you have.

The only time you have any sort of insurance on a race track is if you go to an event that is sanctioned by certain clubs. NASA and SCCA sanctioned events provide participants with excess medical coverage (ie anything that your personal medical insurance doesn't cover), and in certain situations, liability coverage.

I doubt it would be hard to get in, but it's trespassing and you'd be likely to get caught.
