Don't remeber what year yours is, but they have them for 05+, and previous gen. It does cost $150 to ship because they are huge and heavy, but Rusty's usually has damn good prices on this kind of shit. I think they got some Taco and Ford ARBs by accident, normally they only do Jeep stuff.

Hey thanks for the link Jeff. That is about the lowest price I've seen so far. I orginally wanted the full bar like that, but now I'm debating whether or not I want just the lower to save money since I don't plan on smashing my head light out on a rock or something anyway.
I guess if I picked up a part time job it really wouldn't matter and I'd just get the full size one anyway.
We're doing Red Cone this Saturday. Doug really wants to go because I told him it was a cool trail. I hear it's supposed to be cold this weekend so hopefully it won't snow and we'll be able to finish it.
We should be alright as first timers as long as we can see right?
My truck is an '02 by the way. :D

I don't think any ever "plans" on smashing their headlight out on a rock or something... it's more of a just in case type of thing. I would save and get the full bumper, but that's just me. I'm not sure how many of those Rusty has since it's not a normally stocked item. So that price may be limited in time as well, not sure.
Let me know if you want company Saturday. If it's been real cold up there, there might still be snow on the ground. I would say don't go past where we turned around last time if there is snow on the ground.
That's what I figured. I just want to make sure that we're not going to die if we go up without someone who's done it before. I'll find out when we're leaving and you, or anyone else from the board is welcome to join us. I went wheeling with some people from TTORA last weekend and I had fun, but I doubt I'd go with them again.
Oh, and about smashing my headlight on a rock. What I meant was that hopefully I'd be able to see an obsticle that was tall enough to smash out my head light, but I guess I could fall off of something, or slide down a hill into something.

Yeah, I would be worried about slipping forward off into something. I doubt the full bull bar is that much more than just the lower piece. Could save the front of your truck one day, you never know...
Let me know what time you guys are meeting up. I should be able to make it. I really wanted to get up there again, but i have a feeling the snow may be starting to stick up there.
Picture from 9-16 on traildamage. This shows the steep downward side coming down from redcone peak. I know it doesn't look that steep, but trust me it is. And it's a long ways down on either side of a relatively narrow road.

Okay, I'll figure out what time we're meeting up. Doug usually likes to go earlier, but I know you like to go later. We're going Saturday by the way.

Sounds good. A little earlier might mean being able to go over Radical Hill too, and maybe come down the I-70 side somehow. Did you get a CB yet? :D You should go buy a handheld from radioshack then return it the next day.
Just be prepared in case you have to bail out and turn around again. If the trails are still as they are in those pics from 3 days ago, they should be passable. But if it's been snowing since, it's hard to say.
I'd love to hit up more than one trail in a day. I'm trying to get 15 trails under my belt before too much snow falls. I'm at 7. :(

Stu, snow wheeling > *
Okay, I'm meeting Doug at the Allied parking lot at 9:00am. Then we'll meet anyone else who wants to go at the Bailey Loaf n Jug at 10:00am.

Just so you guys know, it snowed enough up there last night to close 50 miles of I-70 (vail pass to georgetown) for awhile. And it's supposed to dump another 8" or so tonight. I'm thinking it might be better to not bother wasting the gas driving all the way up there and just having to turn around again...

I'm pretty sure josh and I are still gonna go :)
Actually, my cousin told me that they were expecting 1-2 feet. So I was thinking, why don't we just do Slaughter House instead? Input?
Doug and I still want to do some wheeling regaurdless of conditions.

So whats the deal with tomorrow, any final plans?
Brian, let's just meet at the Bailey Loaf n Jug tomorrow at 11:00 and head up to Slaughter House. Is that cool with everyone? Doug is right here and that's our plan so far.

I think I'm going to stick around here and catch up on some shit. I've been fucking off for too long and not getting my shit done.
I need to glue my flares back together and cut the front ones. Exhaust header and cat should be here Monday, so I need to see if I can get the motor mounts in too. Plus I need to design some business cards for my bro-in-law's new business.
Oh well, you guys have fun.

Hurry up and get Mya loaded up and get the hell up there Jeff. The "other shit" can wait, there is always time for fun.
Glad to see it looks like you're coming Josh. :)

It was a very long day that resulted in 2 atvs being immobilized

Josh and i got there early, started heading up the trail, going pretty fast, I clip a rock. The atv tries to turn and go up the hill to the right, forward momentum throws me onto the ground with the atv following shortly after landing on me.
Couple hours later someone else pulls a very similar stunt in the same place.

I couldn't move my left wrist, hand, or fingers by 10pm last night. Natalie got it wrapped last night so I could sleep with minimal pain. Its far better today but still not great. How are you feeling Brian?
Alittle more detail from yesterday:
Brian bent the hell out of 1 rim, put a quarter size hole in his tire, and bent a tie rod.
My friend Mike broke the lower ball joint mount completely off of the lower controll arm. We think the weld might have been ready to give anyhow.
Brian rolled his quad over himself.
Cowboy Bob launched himself off of his dirt bike.
I did a jump in the wrong gear and ended up jamming my wrist pretty good. I also rolled my quad on top of myself at the mud pits. I was pinned underneath in the muddy water and had to wait for the guys to come pull my quad off of me because I couldn't move. My right leg and arm were trapped underneath it.
It was a great day and lots of fun, but damn was it a costly one in several ways.
I high centered my truck in the mud pits by not paying attention. I got out before we had to pull me out though.
After Slaughterhouse, Doug and I went down to Red Cone, but I missed a turn on the trail and we ended up going to where it let's you out, or some other trail. We followed it until it turned into a single track and the tracks through the snow stopped. There was about a foot and a half of snow and Doug got stuck twice. Nothing bad though.

Crazy, glad you guys are alright.
I fought my motor mounts all fucking day. I got one side to line up and go in, the other I had to give up on and try and put the old one back in. I couldn't get it completely in right either but got it to where it would either stay or drop in. It still hasn't moved, I was hoping the stud would drop in and I could finish bolting it together, no luck so far. I'm just going to have the dealership do that shit. I was tired of fucking with it at midnight last night.
Dave, my advice is change those bitches while you are doing your swap. It will be 10000000 times easier.

LOL, thanks for the tip Jeff!
Jeff, we were never in any danger of anything, Doug was just playing in the snow and plowing into fresh powder. He was always barely stuck. If we didn't have another truck, we easily could have just pushed him out.

Actually I was mainly referring to the guys trying to park their quads on their chests... :D
Oh right. He was alright. I saw him wave his arm, so I went off a few more jumps before I gave up the bike so someone else could go rescue him. ;)
