View Full Version : Grey Wire Mod for Tacomas.
Hey Jeff, remember when I was trying to engage the rear locker in 2wd? Well you can't. But with this simple mod you can engage it any time you want. I think this will be a GREAT mod for 4 wheel high while in the snow if I ever need it.
I have a feeling any Tacoma guys already know this, but I thought I'd post it up anyway.

there's another wire mod for the DRL but it didn't work on my truck.
i was gonna tell you for snow and slick stuff to leave the locker off if you get off camber like that one spot the other night with the switch back that got really close to the doors. the locker makes the truck slide down easier.
but yea, locker in 2wd = donuts :D

Driving at high speeds with the locker engaged can be dangerous especially in the snow but it's nice being able to engage it at anytime and was one of my first mods.
Here's a link for the 4Runner:

Brandon, have you seen the one where you get the mid adjustment on your factory stereo? If you've got a factory stereo, have the truck on and the radio. Hold down the button that lets you adjust the bass and treble for 15-20 seconds until you hear a beep through the speakers. When you go to adjust the bass and treble, there will also be a mid adjustment as well. It's not even labled Mid. The only catch is you have to turn the stereo off before you shut the key off every time or it clears the setting. That's some cool shit though, like a video game cheat code. You should try it too Paul.

Good find Stu. Although remember what B and Paul already said, don't engage it at speed unless you want to do doughnuts. :D It would actually handle worse in snow in 4H because your ass end would want to slide out on every turn.
One of the guys on the board engages his locker to drag race and has hit the fuel cut off with it engaged.
