Ok my front tire is 100-90-16 and my back is 130-90-16. I was wondering what size tires will fit. I know that when I have my integra, I had 195-40-17 and I could have gone to 205-40-17s. Is it the same with motorcycles. I rather have the bigest tire size that I can get. It is a little more grip for me on the road.

yes you can do the same thing, usually go one size bigger but those tires you have seem way to fucking small. i had a 195/55/17 on my Gixxer 6. I dont know much info on your bike but what is it again?

im a motorcycle n00b but i would think that the contact patch on a motorcycle tire is diff than a automotive tire...

plus his bike is like a '91, which means it has hella tiny wheels.

Just use the same size as what you have got now, otherwise you might have some clearance issues and once you buy a motorcycle tire and mount it, you own it.

I could aways take it to a dealer and check. I just need wider tires that are more round then square. It makes it alittle squerly when I make deep turns.

You're tires are square because they probably have a crap load of miles on them and have been worn down in the center. Just go somewhere and have someone look at your bike and let them see how much clearance you have and decide how much bigger you can go.

ah well i guess with it being a 91', the tires are skinnier. i had no info on it. thats why i had explained that i had a 185 and jumped to a 195 with no problems.

I have a little room to work with, about and inch or so, so I could get a bigger size. I know with cars thinner is better, but I do not know if I want low profiles on a bike. I need bigger tires though. I will check at a shop and see what I can do.

This is your first bike, what makes you think you actually know if you need bigger ones or not? Don't forget that a new tire is going to feel bigger because it will have more tread on it.

Ok. I want wider so I can lean and not fill it slipping. If I am adding power it I can feel the back slide some. Also some of the roads make the bike buck a littel if I am breaking on a turn. I crouch most of the time when I go fast, lower center of gravity and I lean to over the tank to the side that I am turning.

That's not the skinny tire causing that, that's called a shitty tire.

Somebody should tell you that you're NOT supposed to brake in the corners. Oh wait, if you take everyone's advice and take the msf course they would.

Well I taked to a dealer and they said that 110-90-16 were stock for the bike and in the back it can go to 140-90-16 or up to 150-90-16, But it might be worth looking for a new bike. The ninja has not to many miles on it. Only 16,***, so I could sell it.

what the fuck ever, i wouldn't trade 16k miles for duct taped handle bars and bodywork and shitty ass spray paint job any day

Putting larger tires on the bike will make it a little harder to throw around, they seem to be a little slower to lean but are a little more stable.

Don't get rid of that bike for at least a year, its already all messed up so is good to learn on, otherwise you will just screw up a nice bike.

True, I might just become a CA at the dorms. I help out already and then I could just spend my paycheck on a newer bike.
