kenwood excelon KAC-401M (or somethin like that)
ok, it powers up, but the protection LED flashes...I've had plenty of experience in car audio, so I know I have all my wiring correct, good ground, ETC.

occasionally, when I turn on the car, it works for a few second, & the bass sounds good. then it turns off, & the protection circuit starts flashign again

i hate kenwood.

does anyone want to look at it for me??? please???

did you test the resistance on your wires to make sure something didnt change the load to the amp? Only other thing I can think of is overheating because of the summer..how hot is it when the protection light goes on? Maybe take the heatsinks off and make sure there is thermal compound in there still...hrmm...

sounds like you might have an output transistor gone bad. it could be detecting low impeadance because of it.

i have cracked it open, * there is plenty of thermal compound from the mosfets to the heat sinks. how woudl I check the other problems? or is there a kenwood repair place anywhere in CO?
