All I have to say is WOW.
It's almost like I'm driving a completely different car.
It revs completely free without any lag or bog in power till 6000rpms. The sound of the turbo is much more pronounced, and it feels like it's holding boost better (probably because it's just flowing the air out easier though).
It's a bit loud, but I like it and it makes the car stand out. I've already had two people stop and ask me what the hell I've got under the hood. You can just barely see the exhaust tip too, so most people that know anything about cars will probably be a little intruiged by what's making all that noise.
The install was incredibly simple, although we tried to salvage the old exhaust by dropping the rear suspension, but we still couldn't wedge it out, so we had to cut it anyway.
I was driving back from the shop on E-470 and started playing around with one of the new HatchBack Merc's and he couldn't even begin to hold with me. At one point I got pissed off because of him riding my tail (3 inches away from my bumper, the dick), so I got into the right lane, let him catch up to me and then hit the pedal and then next thing I knew, I was like 8 car lengths, at least, ahead of him. Getting to 100 is soo easy now, almost scary.
I thought that I wasn't going to have much of a chance to test out the exhaust in a "reasonably fair" situation, but I got that chance afterall due to a 1.8t Passat. I believe that it was a 2001, so it didn't have the uprated turbo. So I pulled on him like crazy. I finally experience the wheel hop you guys have been talking about too. It sucks!
The only downside to the thing, is that I lost a tiny bit of low end power, but it's not a big deal to me when I hit 3000rpms.
Over all, it is the best $$ that I have spent on a car modification so far in my life.
Although, that may change when I get the APR in a couple months.
If anyone wants a ride or wants to hear it just let me know, and I'll make arrangements.
