That's where I got mine. Had a great time. Rich is a good guy. I'm taking their 3 day essential pistol class later this month.

Web address is www.GunSmokeGuns.com

I took the class and sent off for my Florida permit and now I'm packin'. It's good for Colorado too though. It's kind of a minimal course so if you feel you need more education on gun handling it may not be for you.

nah, thats what hunter safety class was for. i would like to get a ccw sometime in my life. it's just the basic class to get you the ccw? and then you may take more classes if need be? i think i'm proficient with my handgun skills. but then again, i haven't shot shit in about a year+.

I'm sure there are plenty of good classes out there. I thought this one was great though. It was sort of a crash course on concealed carry.

I was surprised how many people were there that night. It must have been 20-30 people. It was a pretty laid back humorous atmosphere. We laughed a lot.

If you're comfortable with a handgun than this might be the class for you.

If you don't have any gun experience it may be kind of intimidating to have only 4 hours of classroom time under your belt then send off for your permit. It's not like you get your permit that night though. You could send off for your permit and get some more training while you wait for it to show up.

They're pretty sold on applying for the Florida permit too. They're mostly against the CBI list you get put on just for applying for your Colorado CCW permit.

Does Utah still issue permits to non-residents, or is it only Florida now? Any real difference between the two?

Check www.packing.org. Last I heard they did but who knows now.

I like Florida's because it's signed by Charles Bronson. Hehe.

Utah is $59, Florida is $117. Utah is $10 every 5 years to renew, Florida is $107 every 5. Utah is 3 less states than Florida.

I'll definitely look into the Utah permit. Unfortunately it looks as if the Utah permit requires a class taught by a Utah certified instructor. I would imagine that's why Gunsmoke suggests the Florida permit.

Silver bullet is where I took my classes, really good guys, live fire training, all around good times/good training. Too bad I'm disqualified somehow =/
