im new here and i was trying to put up a wanted ad, but everytime i click on the new thread button, a msg pops up and sez its invalid or some shit. can someone help me?

You don't have enough posts. You have to have minimum amount of posts to post for sale ads. It's our way of filtering out thieves and scammers.

EDIT: Yes I realize you are trying to post a 'wanted' ad, but it's the same thing. Any type of commerce has a minimum post limit.
