View Full Version : BOV vs DV?
Okay, I posted this on VWVortex a while back, but I plan on ordering either a HKS Blow Off Valve kit or a Forge 007 DV.
What do you think I should go with?
I know that using a BOV will make my car run a little rich everytime I shift, but the combination of that with my TT tb would sound completely bad ass!
Any long term effects of running a bit rich?

I would go with the dv. Ive got the forge 007 and it is awsome. Many people have had alot of problems with bov's setting off cel's. Sometimes, the computer will sense a leak in boost because of the bov and go into limp mode. Besides, 1.8t's are made sothat the air goes back through the intake manifold.

I would just get the forge, with an intake or modded airbox youll get a pretty nice bov-like sound plus its safer
Yeah I think I'm going to go ahead and get the 007.
I'll be ordering it next week.
Am I correct in assuming that the install is hella easy?

They are super easy to install...The only hard part is getting the stock clamps off. Its increadable hard if you ask me.

Hell yeah, those damn hose clamps suck. took me forever to get em all off.
If you really want a HKS, assuming that you didn't get one yet, check out www.ecstuning.com or www.adrenalinmotorsport.com.
You shouldn't have any CEL probs with those, as they're made to work with our cars. I personally don't like the sounds, too high pitched for me...
