My Mercedes friend with the following supercharged Mercedes is going down to Friday night drags at PMI this coming Friday:

SL320 supercharged 3.2L V6 = 330hp
CLK430 supercharged 4.3L V8 = 430hp
and the not your everyday dragging Mercedes SUV of choice :) the ML550 supercharged 5.5L V8 = 550hp

I plan on going down and having some fun with him. Just wanted to let everyone else know since I think it would be priceless too hear what people in the stands say the first time they see any of the Mercedes line up ... especially the 4500lb+ SUV that he is expecting to run mid/high 13's [heh]

Cheers

He has "THE job". He is the US resaler of these supercharger kits for Mercedes. The two cars are his "company cars", actually the 320 is up for sale at the moment... and the SUV is a customers and he is just doing this for a benchmark before he starts slapping on headers and tuning it and what not... he needs a baseline.

Hey David, did you go to germany yet? I was wondering if you got to drive any porche's or ferrari's?

Oh, Ill be there with the laser to see if i can pull at least a high 14.
I have all the stuff for the rewire and im gonna try to get it done tomarrow, then turn the boost up a few PSI.

Yeah we were in Germany... Munich to be exact BUT unfortunately we couldn't find any good cars to rent like Porsches and Ferraris. Even the local Hertz and such rented out nice 300 and 500 BMW and Mercedes but they didn't have any and the drop off fee in Prauge (where we wanted to drive too) was like ~$450!!

So since you are running the Laser I take it you decided to keep it this week ;)? Just wondering

I heard that the supercharged CLK430's supercharger broke on the way up to Denver the other day. My girl gets her hair cut in the same building that the Kleeman office is. I wonder if he'll get it fixed by Friday.
BTW $18000 for a supercharger package is outrageous!
I guess if you have the money..... ;RoCkOn;

I still plan on selling it, but i just want to know what its capable of. Also how much faster it will run by turning up the boost to 17psi opposed to 14psi.

I know the CLK430 had some MAJOR issues with the rear end... somthing like where the axle comes into the rear diff had about 1 inch of play in it :)... but it's all fixed now. I guess thats what happens when you give it too multiple magazines for testing and let them "have there way with it" [heh]. Too my understanding it should be there but maybe I am wrong [shrug].

As far as the price I thought it was more in the 12,000 range but I know there theory is they figure the owner won't mind paying 10-20% of the cars value for a supercharger system ... yah must me nice.

Dallas - Just curious what have you done too it too beable to run 17psi? Anything with the fuel system at all? And I thought, don't remember which gens exacally, that the stock recirc/blowoff could only hold like 12psi or somthing like that? Just wondering.

Just too give you some idea of the "different world" Mercedes owners live in this friend of mine has referred to my car as a "pretty quick for a throw away car" :)... but we usually joke around like that so it's all good... when I can pull on his 60,000+ dollar supercharged V8 car [heh].

Im just gonna do the re-wire which ups the voltage the fuel pump gets to 13-14v's. The small wire used in the harness is like 16 or 18 guage and the fuel pump only gets about 10v's. Im gonna try 16psi first and log the run to see if its good. Then turn it up to 17psi and see if its still good.
The BOV on the 2gs were the shitty plastic things. Alot of 2g owners just get a 1g BOV and put that on, but they have to get a pipe that is flanged for it first.
