Anywhere in Northern Colorado to go shooting?

I'm picking up my new Glock on Saturday morning and want to go shooting Saturday. Is there any place(s) you guys know of that myself and a buddy can go to around here? Heck, if anybody else wants to go shooting let me know.

There's a great spot up near Allenspark... You go up to Lyons, then hang a left to take highway 7 out of town. Right before you get to the junction of highway 72, there's a spot to park on the right side of the road. It's like 15 miles from Lyons, and about 4 miles outside of Allenspark.

There is also the spot in Lefthand, sometimes known as "Carnage Canyon"... take highway 36 to Lefthand, then go a few miles and it's on the right, a mile or so after the 4x4 trail. It's a small and trash-filled spot though.

Cool, yeah I've read about those spots on here. About the one near Allenspark...After you park, what actually indicates the spot you can shoot? Is it legal to shoot there? We'll just have a couple Glocks, no rifles etc.

How much have you seen Glock 19's go for at shows etc? I was prepared to go to Jensen's since it's 5 minutes from my house(their new location) and pay $489 I believe. And also, I must buy something brand new.(it's just a preference thing, I decided I want new guns from here on out:)

I could probably go to Allenspark on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, I have stuff to do in the mornings. I need to put some rounds through my SIG and I need to try and sight my 30-06 for elk season in October. Let me know if you want to go up there Simon, maybe we could meetup somewhere and carpool to save on some gas.

I remember there being an official Forest Service (or similar agency) sign telling shooters to pick up after themselves or something like that. There's a little hill right at the entrance, then you follow the trail to an open area and you may see some brass, old targets, or other shooters. It's a nice place, so most people are good about picking up after themselves.

stock iron sites on the AR... the 1022... i don't even know, some cheap scope with rings... i havne't seen the rifle since i took posession of it

Well an old family friend has a little shooting range on some of his property out near Loveland in Campion. He's kinda senial so he won't let people he doesn't know shoot out there. But if me and my brothers want to go shoot, it's only like 10 mins from my house!:)

Lyons is the nicest public place I've been to, by far. We should all go up there in a few weeks... I think I'm going to get a scope for the AR soon, so I'll definately want to try it out. I also picked up 250 rounds of NATO SS109 (aka M855) for the AR, and a 3rd 16-round magazine for the S&W, at the Crossroads show on Saturday.
