One of the guys i work with got a Triumph Daytona 1000cc... and i've been itching to get a bike. I think i'd have to stick with Honda since they have quite the rep. I was looking at the models on their site and the 1000 cc ones scare me.... i did like the look of the CBR600F4i though, which is only 600 cc. Yet i just read an article online that said it does a 10.9 quarter and 2.9 0-60... seems really fast for a 600. I know i can pick up the older CBR600F4 for around $3000 or go for the fuel injected 2001+ CBR600F4i model which is ~$8000 new, or i've seen them slightly wrecked (cosmetic stuff) for sub $5000 on ebay. I've never riden a bike and would probably hurt myself... but i figure it'd be a fun toy to have for those days you just want to leave the house and hit the road/track. Anyone know much about the CBR600F4i? or just bikes in general? Anyone have any bad expierences getting one? Of course i need to find a job that pays much better before i decide to get one (feel insurance is going to be a pain unless i get one of my parrents to cover it with me listed as a rider)

Get a used bike for a summer first...dont be one of these guys that gets a brand new bike and lays it down within the first month. Seen it happen many times. Get an older used bike...learn how to shift properly and lean on turns...wheelies..umm...stoppies.. ;)

Yea, i figured i would do something like that. What is a nice looking older bike that i can pick up for relativily cheap? I really would like to stick with the sport bikes.

Fuck that, start out with the biggest bike you can,
Or you can buy my buddies 2001 GSX-R 1000, ran 10.50's at bandimere. Never been down, 2300 miles!!:D :D

Hmm, start out on a (holding breath) Ninja 500R. Decent prices used and enough power to teach you how to control yourself. Look in the paper for an older FZR, those can be had for 3 grand or less. I'm down to teach you the basics anytime, I'll ride up sometime.

I agree with Dustin. Buy the biggest and the baddest. You only live once.
By the way, I have a GSXR1000 that went 10.50's at Bandimere.
Full Ti, Ti-Force high mount system, Yosh EMS, geared, plus more.
FOR SALE!!!
