I think i'm going to order my mounts today or tommorow but don't know which ones to get. I heard that the ecs tuning mounts are pretty sweet. There is a red set and a black set and the red ones are 20% stiffer. The only thing that i'm worrying about with mounts is the "rattle". I hear that mounts make a huge rattle in the interior of the car when its idleing. I heard that it is REALY annoying. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, any suggestions on other motor mounts?

I forgot to say that the ecs motor mounts are at www.ecstuning.com if anyone wants to check them out.

They will settle a little bit, and the gains from the power transfer is well worth it...

I had prothane motor mount inserts in the neon in the front and both side mounts. If you havent felt how hard they are you cant put make a dent in it with youre finger nail at all. The rattle was definately increased at idle, but it was worth for the feel of the car. I had absolutely no wheel hop and was able to get 2.2 60 ft's at the drag strip on the stock tires.

I just ordered the energy suspenstion motor mounts for 16 bucks:) I hope they are stiff enough. Does anyone know anyone with these mounts on thier dub? If so, did they help alot?

Hmmm I better order up a set. I had es motor mounts in my honda and while they do rattle a bit at idle it is very worth it.

Brian...do you know how to install motor mounts? is it easy?

Yeah the motor mounts are pretty easy to do. This one is right on the bottom rear of the engine. You should be able to just jack up the car, support the engine with a jack and swap these in.

I wish I had a lift, but I do have every tool imaginable here so it shouldn't be a problem ;)

When you guys ordered your mounts on that site did the submit button do anything? I pressed it a couple times with no action. I e-mailed them about it, but was wondering if the same thing happened to you...

I got down to the part where you enter your credit card number and it said that the site "is not secure" so I cancled my order and called them directly to order it. I'm assuming that you ordered your mounts. Did you do next day, 2 day, or ground? When you get your mounts can i come down to co springs so we can put our mounts in at the same time? I don't have shit for tools.

Got the mounts in the mail today. Mine say new beetle on the box. I called es and they said that they are universal for beetle, jetta, and golf/gti. Did anyone else have a box that says new beetle?

Mine were the same, but you already know that now. This should help tighten up the feel of the car a bit. Plus I hear the dogbone mount is a bpretty common thing to break.

Wow... the motor mounts helped a ton! The overall ride is much smother and shifts are twice as crisp. I launched one time and there was no hop and very little spin. Did you guys get the same result?
Thanks agian brian for helping me out.

they made a big difference. The car feels much more solid. I can deal with the little bit of vibration, even though it should go away in about a week. over all its $16 well spent IMO. Thanks alot brian
