Looking to pickup a 9mm this Saturday. I've shot several Glocks and was very happy with each and every one. I narrowed it down to the 17 or 19, but I can't decide! Thats why I didn't pick one up this previous Saturday.
The gun will mainly be used for target, home defense and to carry on occassion. So due to this, I'm leaning towards the 19. I love it's overall physical size but it's just a tad small on the grip side compared to the 17 ofcourse.
Anyway, I know it's personal preference but let me know what you guys think.

i have the g19 cause it fits my hand the best, easier to conceal if you do decide to do ccw with it. if you do decide to get it, then get it and get yourself some good nightsites. i have meprolites, green front and backs. don't forget to do the $.25 trigger job, as the action will be smoother.

why only a 9mm? .40 SW has the same size frame but way more stopping power... you can always get a 9mm barrel and mags to target shoot with 9mm. Even a .45GAP, but the ammo might be hard to come buy. If your mind is set on a 9mm get the 19... espically if you want to carry... if you dont' carry it get the full size and keep it on the nightstand... i recommend Truglo TFO for aftermarket sights... and definately do the trigger job...

yeah a bigger caliber is better. but i got my g19 cause i used to have a uspc 45 and ammo was way too expensive to be shooting 1k rounds a weekend.

Thanks fellas. Looks the 19 is the winner. I'll be picking one up on Saturday morning, can't wait.

oh don't forget to grab some 31 round mags too, those make rapid fire alot of fun.

Haha, yeah I put one of those mags in it while I was looking at it just to see what it's like...badass.

Hey, what do you guys think about the extended slide and extended mag releases? Just curious because my buddy has some spares(new ones) and said I could have them and he'd install them as well. I'll be getting night sites for sure as well.
Thanks again.

i have both and like them. mag release might be too much for a really close iwb holster. but i don't know cause i don't ccw. i have the 3.5# connector as well, and it makes rapid fire alot better. i hear the marine cups work pretty well for competition shooters too.

the g19 will come with a ridged trigger, i just took it out and sanded it down. i didn't like it cause it made my finger raw after 600 rounds. or you can buy a smooth one for like $20

another vote for the 19. I have a 19, a 26, and two 17s. The 19 is the best all around Glock IMHO. I dislike the .40S&Ws personally, but a lot of folks seem to like 'em.

I also have both... the mag release fits my ctac iwb holster just fine... I think its a must on all glocks
