next week im finally gonna get a chip:D APR has a deal where you buy the chip and get a second program for free. I am getting the regular 91 octane for my first program (215 crank hp 240 crank tq) now should i get the stock program in case i need to make atrip to the dealer of should i get the race program for the track ( requires 100 octane gas)?

I'd go with the stock program personally, but I'd use my GTI as a daily driver first, race car second. If you are planning on racing it only, go with the race program. Dealerships are too stupid to know you have a chip anyways.

Thats the same situation i'm in. Stock would be nice for the dealership, but so would 100 octain since we race a lot. It's 150 for each additional program right? damn, tough call.

its normally 150 for the second program and 75 for any after that. With the sale going on next week you could get 3 programs for $ 575 but i cant afford that righ now. im leaning towards the 91 octane and the race program for track use

How long is this deal going on for, and are you dealing directly with apr? If I can get all three programs for 575 I better act on it.

I'm thinking of getting 93 100 and stock. I'm pretty sure that we can get away with the 93 octain on 91 with our elevation.

the deal is only for next week june 17-23. 575 for 3 programs regularly 725. you think 93 is safe up here? i still might get 91 for when i go back to idaho, i havent found any places that have 93 yet. do you think 91 octane on the 93 program is pushing it too much at 3000 ft? if i can get away with it i will get 93

I think it would be fine especially up here. From what I understand it just pushes the timing a bit further than the 91 program. I also hear of surging problems with the 91. For idaho thats a bit tougher. Put up a post in the engine forum and ask the turbo guys. I'm sure they would know for sure. All I know is at 6 psi I was supposed to run 93 minimum in my SI with 10 degrees of timing. I was running 22 degrees advanced at 10 psi on 91 octain. The farmcrest on centennial sells 93 octain here in town. There has to be a place in Idaho so you can test it out on 91 and 93.

Oh yeah and never fill up at a 7/11. Their gas is shit. I've had luck with Safeway gas, Conoco, and Total.

Oh yeah, I was also going to ask. If I get this chip can they just re flash it when I get the stage 3 kit in a year or so? Or will I have to buy another chip?

my understanding is they will just reflash it. plus if you buy a chip and then buy the stage 3 the will give you ALL the programs for being a repeat customer.
im sure there is somewhere in idaho that I can get some 93. so ill prob go with the 93 and race for trips to the track:cool: I cant wait

I know I gave you a lot of shit about these cars, but I must say that I am VERY impressed by it so far in stock trim. I can't wait to chip it.

haha, no problem man.
are you gonna get a chip for sure next week? how many miles on the car? have you launched it and taken it to redline yet?

I've got about 500 on it. I finally launched and took it to redline a couple times last night. These cars have a ton of torque. I was launching about 2k or 2500 and blazing the tires pretty well. I expected the turbo to fall off in the top end a lot more than it does because it's so small. I was surprised to find that it just keeps pulling.

Brian, my trip was unbelievable...drinking margaritas, bangin senoritas.
I dont know anything about heuberger, but, for any warrenty work on your car you can go to ANY autherized vw dealer in the usa. If i were you, I would go to mcdonald automotive. They are cool as hell and if you become friends with the machanics, your set. One of the head machanics has a SICK jetta. t3/t4 turbo with everything you can think of done plus nos. He goes to every club clash and races with the buick team. He only runs high 14's though because he wants everything perfect before he turns up the boost and runs nitrous. Its good for any easy high 12 if tunned correctly. Also he has a vag com, witch is sweet becasue you can check all of your engine faults. I'll introduce him to you at the next club clash.
