Well today I recieved my cable from www.tactrix.com and reflashed the stock ecu for the bigger injectors I now have installed. Thanks Hung :worshippy . Granted I already have a UTEC, but have been unimpressed with it thus far. The cable is $80 and I did the reflash myself. The reflash took a little studying up on www.openecu.org but was well worth it. Now its time to modify the timing and boost maps to hit the values I was using on the UTEC.

I am an ECUTek tuner and I have nothing but praise for you. It is a similar program but without professional support and on the ECU I tinkered with, it was missing many maps that I have access to. Good job. Be careful and get a wideband.

Does this mean you've ditched the crappy Utec?

Not yet, I was taking a look at the new release, which we waited for for a year I might add, which supposedly fixed the crossover hesitation. With the new release you can also use speed density for fueling, which is pretty cool. So I think I will upgrade to the new release, retune and see how it goes. If they indeed fixed the hesitation issues and I can use the speed density, I might keep it.

Over the weekend I modified my timing, fuel and wastegate maps on the stock ecu to hit the values I was using on the UTEC. The car feels good, I just need to figure out a way to log my LC-1 and the stock ecu at the same time.
On a side note, I was peaking out at about 29 lbs/min on the turbo, I hate altitutde sometimes

Well I reflashed the UTEC last night, they indeed fixed the crossover hessitation issues. However, there is so much more control I can do reflashing the stock ecu than I can do with the UTEC. Its deffinately a trade off though. With the UTEC I can have multiple maps that I can switch between, use launch control and speed density. With the stock ecu I have more control over timing and AVCS maps, CEL's, ect. If the open source community gets the reflashing utility with more features like using speed density I will end up getting rid of the UTEC. I think for right now I will keep using both, and see which works out better once I have more mods.

WRX Harvey,
What are people doing with ECUTek for when they upgrade the turbo since the MAF maxes out at 300g/s?
