ok, after working the past 4 weeks in a row without a day off, I have tommorow off!! Whats a good day hike to do, or something to check out??? I just bought a D-SLR and I want to get some cool pics of the mountains and make a hike out of it.....any suggestions??

I just did Torrey's a week ago. Sick climb = 14,2xxft. Crazy views at summit.

If you're looking for something close to town, I'd recommend Chataqua park in Boulder. Just go west on Baseline from US36 and you'll see it on your left. If you keep going straight on Baseline, it turns into Flagstaff Rd. and there's some nice scenery up there. Keep going further up and you'll see Walker Canyon as well. Another nice place up by Golden is Apex park which is just next to Heritage Square. There's a single track section where you're surrounded by Aspen trees. Its alot nicer in the fall when the leaves turn gold.

:werd: But it is usually crowded as hell. If you keep on going up baseline near the crown rock area...there is one place where you can overlook Boulder....and you become absolutely speechless. It's amazing.

I just want something to get out, I will have to check out Chataqua Park for sure!

Naw, it's not too bad. It just seems crowded because there's only 1 starting point. After that, it splits into many different trails.
