:rolleyes: As both a user, and a coder, I love AMD. They have been offering a superior product for many years, while still maintaining compatibility with Intel's archaic x86 architecture. I first tried their processors over 10 years ago, before most people had even heard of them, and I have been with them ever since. I have had absolutely zero problems with them, and I have nothing but good things to say about AMD. They offered the same performance for less money and with less bugs, then they started adding their own opcodes like 3DNow to further enhance it's capabilities, and now they have a significant market share, major PC makers using their chips, other companies making AMD specific motherboards, and major software companies taking the time to make use of the extra features in their processors.

AMD owns intel in the server market. I'm getting ready to switch from dual Xeons to dual core Opterons. Dual Opterons are like 400% faster than anything intel offers. Intel = the ballz

AMD is developing their next gen chips as well. Intel may gain back some of their edge, but it isn't going to last long. That and you can build an AMD server for a fraction of the cost of an intel server.

Wait 'til conroe hits the market.

Latest testing shows that Conroe beat AMD's X2 line and Intels P4 by a margin up to 70%.
There hasn't been a big beating like that in nearly a decade. I try not to be a fanboy, but I do lean towards AMD's side; lets hope AMD has something better planned. If not, well, I see a major ass whooping coming up.

Edit: BTW AMD's answer to conroe (K8l) isn't coming out to mid 07

Iagree, I try not to be a fanboy as well. AMD has impressed me greatly over the past few years. I just hope they keep it up.

AMD truely has made a GREAT showing in the market. Intel is scrambling to play catchup.

And please - it's nothing but a game of leapfrog between the 2. Given the choice, I'll take AMD over intel any day.
