The sad dark side to grey hound racing. I saw it on discovery channel before how once a dog is past it's prime and isn't worth breeding. they truck these dogs out to a rural farm and put the dogs down. it was sickening when i saw them toss the dead bodys on to the back of a truck as if it were sand bags.

less then 5% of dogs which are no longer able to race are actually adopted. a few that are big money makers or track record breakers may actually be retired, but a majority of the dogs meet that faith. 7-8 years ago when my cousin asked if i was intrested in investing in greyhounds, i was tempted to until i saw that show. granted my cousin will adopt out his dogs that no longer run, but not everyone share that same view.

We always joked that ho's ho's (like scoops... $1 per scoop) used dogs. All the locations they had over here in littleton/centennial were mysteriously right next to Vetrinarian offices....

2) Dogs aren't human.

Like I said, you can take your dog to a vet clinic and say "Put that sucker down," and they'll do it. It doesn't matter why you had the dog before hand or even if there is anything wrong with it (I know because I've saved a dog that was perfectly fine and the lady just wanted to put him down).

EVERY dog purchase is one out of your own personal pleasure.
