I can't get the damned crank bolt off of my '95 MX-3. I had my gf put it in gear and hold the brake while I used the impact on it. The godamn thing won't come off. Any suggestions?

Use the starter. Put a pipe on the handle of the wrench, ensure that when the starter turns it'll turn into the floor, hit the key once or twice. It'll come loose.

You put any PB Blaster on it? I'd suggest a big breaker bar over your impact.

What kind of impact are you using?

What kind of air are you using? LOL!! I would hit it with the PB and let her sit for 5/10 min and see if that helped. They may have put some Loctite on it and over done it, so now it's basicly glued in. Are you sure you are turning the proper direction too?

Make sure you aren't using extensions on the impact if you can help it.

PB Blaster works surprisingly well... it kicks WD40's ass.

I've tried using the starter, Even while my gf was holding the key on I was able to grab the breaker bar and turn the engine backwards.

I've been soaking it with wd40, haven't tried PB Blaster on it.

I'm using a Husky impact at 150 psi. No extension.

This may be just dumb, but is there any chance it threads the opposite way? The tranny and air intake are on opposite sides compared to my Honda's, so could that mean that it needs to turn clockwise to remove it?

You can try to turn it the other way. Only thing that'll do is make it tighter or loosen it.

on honda's there a tool you can get to hold the pulley and stick the socket thur. i got one of those and a 3" foot pipe on a breaker bar, had friend hold it straight while i jumped on it. would've been little easier if I weight more.
