raced a Evo MR this weekend [Archive]

I was driving my friends 05 Black STI this weekend, I was on 6th ave. and seen a while s2000, silver WRX, and a grey wingless MR Evo turn down some side street. I followed them and got in the left lane and as soon as I did that the Evo got in front and kinda took off, I got on it but there was noway I was going to catch his ass, that thing was F'n quick!!! The whole time me and my friend were like, wish we were in the civic... lol.. Just wondering if this guy or any of his buddys were on the board, if so, sweet ass cars, and one quick ass MR....

The car I was driving is a little better then a gayon, but it was kinda disapointing when it came to that MR.... But I dont think that I have ever driven anything that handled like that before, I love that car!!!

No.

The 06 MR is underrated by alot.

Reflash, Turboback Exhaust and intake will get you to a low 12 high 11.

no, the mr is the priciest evo. rs is the cheapest, radio delete, no wing, or very many comfort features.

they that thing had some mods too, but I gave him a small run. Dont get me wrong the sti is not slow by any means, its just that evo was way faster then any normal one, I have raced evos in my civic and had no problems at all.

Hmm, I have yet to see any fast subarus with light mods.
Turboback, and reflash on a suby doesnt seem to do much up here. 99mph trap on a race tune maybe.

The same mods on EVO does a whole lot more, especially the 06's with the MIVEC

At sea-level my buddy had an STi with UTEC, turboback-nocat, and front mount kit and his fastest run was a 12.9, not sure trap speed....

MR's with a flash, turboback and intake run 11's all day long at sea-level...MR's simply just respond to mods so much better, toss in a two step and you have a launching machine that will eat any torque jumping Vette or Mustang....I have a few videos that numerous MR's eat alive RB25 240's, Vipers, and S/Ced Vettes....all the guys I know in Oregon..

No, he's right. I don't remember if they changed the feature differences but on the VIII the MR added a 6 spd manual, better susupension, vortex generators (used in conjunction with the wing to add more downforce) and an aluminum roof. Not taking stuff out as with the RS.

Full Race CL I mean ....honestly you cant miss it. Its the only Cl like it in the country. I suppose if you see a M3 Red Cl with a Gloss black weight reduced interior .......you could show him so love and race him :)

hahah, not sure.....you should see it driving in the longmont/lafayette/boulder....area...i honestly just go out and drive for fun. Im searching for this guy named Ghost from the CL boards. He owns a white CL ..in the 3.0 form. He just posted some dyno numbers SAE corrected and i want to run him ....thus....the driving around for no reason what so ever.

Plus, its fun to just drive

Oh i agree. I love to drive too. I am sometimes in longmont, boulder, lafayette area...Ill keep my eyes peeled. More broomfieldish thorntonish. . .
