The club that I'm in, CSMA, has announced the first of 2 Bandimere Track Days. The date is set for August 7, with a rain-out date of August 9.
It's the same as last year, show up around 9 am and race until at least 3 pm. The club is trying to get it so that we'll be able to stay through Test & Tune as well.
There'll ONLY be 80 cars this time around. Last year too many people showed up and it cost some people a lot of money.
The cost is $75 for all the runs you can make. The money must be paid to S&S Motorsports at 452 Laredo Street, Unit I, in Aurora; east of Chambers on 6th Ave. But they WILL NOT be accepting money until after the 4th of July weekend. There are still some details to be worked out, but I wanted to post this so that everyone would have enough advance notice.

How much was it last year?
I'm there! :)
During a private event like this, are all the NHRA rules still enforced?

I don't know the answer to either of those questions, so I'll find out...

Don't quote me on this but last year I believe Colorado FBody set it up and we each only paid $40 or $50 max. I could be wrong though. And there were not ENOUGH people. I got 15 runs in, and could have made twice as many passes if I wanted to.

There was a cutoff limit because I called and they wouldnt let me run but my friend had paid and they let me take his spot, so there was more than enuf people.
You are you talking about the one S&S Motorsports did last year?
yeah...I got about 15 passes too...or so...and a burnt clutch.

I believe that is who set it up, the name sounds about right. I was the only 4 cyclinder there I think, I even hit a .500 light on my very 1st run of the day:) It was only like $40 right? I think if there was even twice as many people it would have been just as fun and I would have gotten just as many runs in.

Last years Even was run by S&S Motor Sports and CSMA, same as this year.
Cost last year was $60 for non club members. Costs have gone up this year, as has our # of cars.
FYI last year, we had MORE cars than we were allowed, and got charged BIG time for it. These costs were after the fact, and had to be eatin by CSMA and S&S. We are NOT going through that this year.

Interesting...
I could have sworn I was a "late addition" and still only paid about $40 or so on my Credit card. It was a lot of fun though, and there easily could have been more cars there and everyone would have gotton just as many runs in. I'm a poor little bastard building a house right now or else I'd try to make this one as well.
You guys should get Willie B from KBPI out there this year.:)

Well last year, I guess we got a Club rate. I was only charged $45US. and there was plenty of room for more people. Who gets to decide how many is to much, Bandie? because i got 18 runs and NEVER once had to wait to stage. That also includes TONS of cool down time between runs. So whatever the requirements for "Not enough" Or "To Many people" are, all i know is that there was plenty of room to have more people run without being crouded. So maybe they need to up the limit seeing how we had more then enough space and got more then enough runs in.
BTW: $60+ is to rich for my blood..

I'm not sure who decides how many people/cars are too many. We've been told that 80 cars is the limit. Last year was the same, but a bunch of people showed up there at the gate and paid to get in. THAT wasn't supposed to happen. Because of it, some of the guys that set the event up paid alot of money out of their own pockets.
I don't blame them for making sure that it doesn't happen again. The reason the cost went up is because Bandimere raised them. The information I've received is that the insurance costs have gone up. :(
Willie B is supposed to be there this year. I'm honestly expecting Bandimere to come through and allow the people that want to continue racing stay through Test & Tune.
I guess we'll see what happens...
