Stock what? B118c1, ITR, CTR... OBD1, 2, 0?? There's like a hundred Honda Distributors!! Are you talking about the stock one for a d16z6, what year, is there a OBD-0, 1,or 2?

obd 1 wiring or stock crx? the obd1 distributor will not work with an obd0 computer. different number of teeth on the cyp sensor and other stuff

on the crx side of the wiring there are two white wires going into the distributor; on the obd1 harness there is only 1 white wire. Try swapping those two white wires.
One wire is for some sensor and the other wire is the wire from the ecu that tells the ignitor when to fire. That one is kinda the most important.

that wouldnt have been covered in the conversion kit i bought?

What engine harness are you using? Did you buy distributor adapter plugs if you are using your CRX wiring and an OBD1 EX Distributor?

Write a flow from your ECU to the distributor and make sure you are using a P28 ECU.

does it go P28 - OBD1 to OBD0 conversion - wiring harness inside the car - engine harness - distributor plug adapter - distributor?

all obd1 ecu's are created equal; any of them will fire off an obd1/2 distributor.

all the wiring is correct i believe i am just haveing a malfuction in the distributor, might have to buy a new one

do you know for sure you don't have power to the dizzy, or do you just have no spark and assume there's no power reaching it? When I did a swap for my friend, we weren't getting any spark, and after rechecking my wiring (which was good) I found it had a bad coil in the dizzy he bought off ebay. Swapped in a new (actually I think we swapped it from is other engine) coil and it ran perfect. It's easy to get sucked into thinking it's a wiring issue on a swap (because it usually is), but sometimes you just have to keep it simple stupid.

i checked all the wiring to the "dizzy" with the power reader thing and the plug into it is getting power but i am creating no spark, my wiring harness is from rywire.com, im gonna look closer at it this weekend when i get more time.

I'll see what I can find in my garage, what exactly is the coil? I thought it was the ignitor that always went bad in Honda distributors.

ComputerJLT
07-18-2006, 05:42 PM
ignitors and coils go bad about even.

the ignitor is the white chip branded hitachi iirc the coil is a bigger black or grey odd shaped plastic block with a few terminals and a high voltage terminal on it

Have you done the good old screwdriver test on the plug wires to make sure your not getting spark?
