http://denver.craigslist.org/car/174410870.html is another car that I know is a good car for drifting.

Good drift cars:
Civic
Integra
Mirage
You do not want RWD for this application, it is so much easier to just pull the ebrake with a FWD. Half the cars drifting that you see are really FWD.

get a mustang or camaro or something like that. You don't have to build a wicked engine in them to make 400-500 HP and they drift like crazy

well, you are poor right? And you are trying to get a drifting car cheap? So you are going to get a corolla and build a 3 thousand dollar engine that's powerful enough to drift with, or you can buy an 82 camaro with a 305 and a positrac rear end, or an 86 mustang GT with a 5 speed and a posi for around a thousand bucks and drift it all over town. Just my .02
Kinematics
06-23-2006, 04:52 AM
Relying on just power to drift is very amateur, my .02. ;)
Mustangs and FBodies suck at everything but going in a straightline anyways, why bother trying to get them to do something else? Their chassis rigidity is also an absolute joke.

we are talking about torrenne here. He needs every advantage he needs to do anything, and power would be a definate advantage he would need to drift.

An MR2 would be a poor drift car since it has a high polar moment and a short wheelbase. That means it'll snap around on you rather than slowly break away. And with your driving skill, that's a bad thing.

Get a vespa! Those are great for drifting!
Get yourself a mkiv supra, slap a decent single turbo kit on it (t66 works well), and drift away.

$700 Corolla? Someone didn't get the drifting memo.
MR2: mid engine, you'll kill yourself (Mid-engine Rwd get it lol)
If you're serious, buy a 240, since they're good for other things once you get over this ricey drifting bullshit.
Honestly though, I think FWD is a lot more up your alley.. you'll wreck a RWD car.

No. I did not know it but In forza I end up drifting the evo on turns. I do not do it to see how far I can go sideways, I do it to keep going fast and make the turn.

06-23-2006, 08:55 PM
uh.... videogame drifting for "speed" (aka power sliding) is much different than real drifting or real power sliding. Maybe you should stick to something with a video controller.
You can't make a 90 degree turn at 150 like you can on Need for Speed...

Yeah, a controlled RWD powerslide is nothing like your e-brake turns man. But, if you want a good drift car, buy my monza. 3500 bucks, and it burns out like crazy, and runs 11.6's to boot, and it does a sweet 3-5 inch wheelie. It's the car in my avatar. And it has a roll bar, so when you hit a curb and roll it over, you might not die.
