Does anybody know if the older Pre-'95 Non-Vortec 350ci V8 Chevy trucks can reasonably tow a 3300lb. car? I'm not talking cross country or anything just back and forth to Bandimere from Loveland?
Thanks.

I tow my car around with my little Ranger V6. I'm sure you'll be okay.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't remember exactly when or where, but I swear I heard those particular older non Vortec motors sucked for towing? I dunno.

I've towed my eclipse on a big ass trailor with my moms 5.2L V8 Jeep. It did fine power wise.... braking is the scarry part.

there is a dude i work with who tows his 21 foot boat on the back of his lifted jeep wrangler. Braking is a joke in that thing.

I had about 2500lb in the bed of my V6 Sierra yesterday, had no problems with power or braking.

From what I've been told, carrying alot of weight, and having it behind you pushing you, drives completely different.
That, and like when I towed my car.... 3200 lb car + ~1000 lb (or more) Trailor.

That thing weighed atleast 5,000 pounds.

yeah, you'll have no issues. The ol small block chevrolet will do just fine. It may not be a speed demon, but it'll do the job. If it's automatic, get a trans cooler, and change the trans fluid and rear end fluid more often though.

Right on, yeah I'm looking for a truck now and will do a tranny cooler for sure if it doesn't have one.
Thank for all the info guys.

Do trailers have brakes?
Some do, generally only larger trailers though.

any trailer made commercially after 95 has to have brakes. Homebuilt has a different set of rules.

It's easier to tow, isnt it?
