But I organized a large meet Saturday night, and we ended up getting 40-50 cars there.....some of them were pretty bad ass! 840rwhp Supra, Viper, RHD Civic EG6, to name a few, thought I would share some of the pics for ya guys!

Other highlighted cars out were two boosted hatches, JDM front boosted Integra, H22 Del Sol (the white one in the back ground), and a few other cars...

Here are some vids of some of the day runs we ran...The supra was boggin every time from a dig due to him slappin on some radials for the runs against the Mustang in the evening, but this was the first time he has ever ran radials on the street, so he was boggin it badly

There are a couple different things that could open up, plus that part of the country is intriguing to me now. So short version...yes.

Oregon is bad ass.......I actually lived there for 5 years, in Eugene.....I am actually contemplating on moving to Portland within the next couple of months...I have an oppurtunity to work for a shop up there (TorqueFreaks) as a tech. I would suggest Portland as a place to live, as long as you are cool with a more liberal-esque enviroment.

We really enjoyed it there last month, I could get used to the non-blazing temps. It seems like a great state to live...

Yeah and you cannot pump your own gas!

Yeah and you cannot pump your own gas!
I actually have a funny story about that.

We went and got gas in Gresham, OR last month and the guy came up to the car and we told him to top the tank off. My husband went inside to pay while I waited in the car and then after the nozzle clicked off the guy came over and started putting more gas into the car. I poked my head out the window and I told him "It already stopped on it's own, that means it's full... YOU CAN STOP NOW" I don't think he realized that I knew what he was doing and after I told him that he was all startled and was like "oh, ok....."

what a tard....

Yeah I don't think the attendents out there are very smart, funny thing we did a job out there and one of our diesels has a flat bed dually well for designed the fill piping like shit. You have to hold the nozle upside down and push it up against the bed or it will leak smelly diesel all over the place. Also when you get to the end you better jump out of the way or it splashes back at you. Well I would try to explain this to the attendents but they would not understand it so every fill I would watch them get covered in stinky fuel.

Is is a state law or something?

stu

How DARE you assume that someone who fills gas tanks for a living might not be that smart. ;)

You would be suprised how much those guys make......

I knew a guy that has pumped gas for Costco for almost 5 years now, you wouldnt ever know he makes $18/hour plus tips........for PUMPING GAS!! Fucker!

Yes it is state law, you can get fined if you pump your own gas there. AND no sales tax, I just saved about $100 over the weekend buying all my more expensive items there (shoes, clothes, electronics, etc)

Interesting. Anyone have a clue *why* it's against the law to pump your own gas?

Is a member of their legislature's kid too stupid to do anything else, so they made sure he'd never lose his job?

I've never heard this before, so I'm curious. I wouldn't want some assjack touching my car, even to only open the filler door, scratch the paint with the nozzle, and then spill gas all over the side. No thanks.

There are several states that have the law where someone else pumps your gas I believe. I think that's the way it is in New Jersey.

On a side note: Fuck, I make $18/hr.

Still though, any ideas on why a state would have a law about this? I've been trying to think of one, and just can't do it.

stu

I doubt that it's a law (unless they are just wusses about liability) they probably just have something that strongly encourages full service stations. Actually, maybe it is a law, because you'd think it'd be cheaper to have a do it your goddamn self station than a full service one.

No, its a state law. Oregon put it into ordinance to produce more jobs...Its not a mandatory full service station....its the law. You need a 4-5 digit code entered into the pump to authorize pumping, so even if you were joe schmoe coming into the state and got out ready to pump your own gas....you would be declined!

Oregon has alot of those shady fuckin laws and what nots to produce more jobs....they use lower quality road materials so that the roads dont last as long, to produce more jobs. Even with all this, Oregon has the highest unemployment rate in the US......thats the shitty thing about Oregon...

I had a buddy that had a boosted 240 on a ka.....completely tuned for 93 octane fuel, NOTHING less or car would be fucked. Went to the station and told the attendant to fill up with premium....he had just got off of work, needed gas, didnt pay attention to the guy. Guy ended up filling it with 87.....got on the freeway, pulled 1.4 bar....BAM....blew the motor. Looks at the receipt 5 gallons of 87, he ended up filing a small claims battle with the station and won almost $4k in damages!

A perfect reason to drop such a fucking retarded law.

Especially when they are paying the saucebags $18 an hour to stand around most of the day. Fuck that.

He DID work at the Costco pump, the Costco in Eugene is one of the highest volume Costco's in the nation...that gas station was tyipcally $.02 cheaper then anywhere else in town, and it would have 10-20 cars lined up at all times in each of the 4 lines for fill ups.....he definatly wasnt standing all day

Regardless, it's still cheaper for them to not pay anyone and just let people do it themselves.

I will intentionally never take my car there for this reason. :D Rental cars FTW!
