I have the Aldelphia service but last night I could not get online. It says I was connected but no pages where loading.
On the cable modem box I notice the last light down (status) was at a constant blink. Then at times the light would stat flashing fast. On the network (2 computer icon) at the bottom right...it would bring up that I'm connected @ "insert your speed here" off and on.
I have a IP address as well.
Anyways what the hell is the probelm?

everytime i have a problem with my cable modem this is what i do:
1. press the reset button on the back
2. go to command window and type in >ipconfig /release
3. go to command window and type in >ipconfig /renew
that usually takes care of it

If it happens to be a leasing issue then ipconfig will work, but it doesn't sound like that was your problem. Sometimes at random times they just drop the connection. If the status light is blinking then that means that the modem is trying to reconnect itself to adelphia. The only thing you can do in that instance is just wait untill the service is back.
Oh and even when the connection is being reset you will not lose your network connection (computer icon in the task bar) All that means is that you have a physical connection, but it doesn't mean that the physical connection is working.

Well it's back up now. I think they just didn't want me online the other night....

sometimes those things can just take a long time to train up if their ip block is pretty saturated. There are a lot of "tools" that they have available on their web pages to test everything...definately better than just sitting there watching the lights flash at you. :)
