came across this... it's a tach for your computer... basically it just monitors your CPU usage, and redlines at 8k rpm... kind of cool i think... then again i'm a geek. What a cool way to show off at a lan party though! (related subject... would anyone be interested in having a LAN? I have a couple hubs and lots of cables (done many lan parties before) We could play some JKII or CS or something... just a thought)

Hell yeah, those are great...I use to go over to Mandy with Art(Hoffman). We would only have about 5 computers there, but it was still rockin' playing CS.

Do a watercooled setup, then you can have your FMIC :)

I'm down for a lan party, be a good way to meet people on teh board :) I know a friend of mine that would come too, we used to have lan partys every now and then at our old place *sigh*

Just a forewarning, I will destroy you all in CS :P

What about games like GhostRecon? DOD?

It looks like you can rig up any tach to that setup... and can either measure CPU usage or hard drive RPM... i might get one for my HDs in my next system... though i'd have to get a tach off a honda bike... not even sure if they go up to 15k rpm

we do lans in the springs every 6 weeks or so...should have one pretty soon since skewl is finally over. I have lots of hubs (gag) and a router. Maybe you could destroy me in CS...Quake 3 on the other hand... ;)

Jedi Knight isnt much fun for a big lan imo....Rocket Arena 3 is where its at.

Who has a house with enuf power and tables to host such a thing anyway?

CS PWNZ U!!!!! heh... i got all the tables and things... we used to lan in HS all the time at my parrents house... it's not to hard to support 15+ comps... i got plenty of tables/chairs and a truck... really just need a place with a good location and big enough room. I also have a few switches/hubs and tons of cables.

Hey Bedlam, why haven't you shown off the Milano red Acura tower? You know, the one with the top mount cooling fan, the side mount neon window, and the ever important stickers???

if we did do a lan i would sugest CS, DOD, Quake 3, Jedi Knight II (can be fun with lots of people and maybe starcraft or something. I have more than my share of lan expierence... really about everything that is needed... just need a nice size place to do it all.

hmm... let's see... it seems we have all the equipment and everything necessary... as well as a somewhat decent sized backing of participants... and the knowhow to put it all togeather... all we are missing is a place...

Personally i'm up for a HAI lan 100%... i think it would be great fun. We could probably easily get ~15 people, which would make a fun party. We could do it at my place, but with that many space might become limited.... anyone have a pretty decent sized place we could do it at? I can bring all sorts of tables and chairs and things. I think this is definatly something we could do.

Like I said I'm ready whenever, as long as I'm not oncall for work at the time :) I've got hubs and switches too, but it doesn't sound like we'll need any extra of that.

No lan for me, I sold my computer, hopefully that B16A will be in my car soon. Enjoy the lan, if it happens that is.
