you got an apr chip right? Im hoping to get chipped within 3 weeks and I have a couple questions. What programs did you get and how much was it for the whole thing? also did you have to sent your ecu to apr or is there now a local tuning company who carries apr products? I cant afford to be without a car for 3 days.

Check out www.hpamotorsports.com, they probably have what you want for cheaper.
Also, there is a shop somewhere here in CO that sells their stuff... I don't remember the name, but I'll find out for ya.

yeah, I found the name of the shop, well I forgot the shop name, but the website to check out is www.bestvwclub.com. Click on the "Contact us" link and talk to Lance, tell him Brett sent you.
The name of the shop he just opened is something like techtonic or something, and can be found at www.bestvwparts.com. Their site is rather sparse right now, but give them a call or shoot Lance an email and he'll hook you up with much better prices.

I don't think he will get the apr chip for much less than 500.

From what I understand in the VW(1.8T) world the APR chip is probalby the best........

the giac chip is about the same as the apr chip as far as power but with the giac you dont have features like 91 octane program, 93 octane program, race gas program, valet mode, throtle body alignment, security lockout, stock mode, (all at an extra price) which can be changed through the cruise control stock on the fly. and ive never seen their chip for less then $500 except for at shows where you get some options for free. (i wish there was a show around here:(
