Are you the same Milo that is over at COSR? Someone told me a Milo over there, wanted to run me with his S2K.... if thats you, Im down.

I cant look at that thread, because the dipshit admin wants a donation (mandatory...hahah doesnt sound like a donation to me if its mandatory) of $12 to use the boards.

If youre the same guy, lets run em... although I asked for the car to be low 14's, high 13's...... if your really that fast, cool, otherwise its not going to be worth both our times, I want a car thats atleast that fast to judge how well my car is tuned, as I should be at least that fast.... but its up to you.

Lemme know.

That'll work perfectly.... she pulls like a banshee now, and I just wanna see how fast of a car I can keep up with... reason I wont do it at bandi, is, shes still leaking tranny fluid, and I dont think bandi would like that very much.... :)

Im in Aurora, just north of BAFB.

Mrdmdstar
05-22-2002, 03:56 PM
Bah, I dunno about solidly..... it should be good tho.

Im only running 15psi, ill up it some once I get the DP and TP on (hopefully in a few weeks), but for now shes happy, and pulls LOADS better with no knock... I was maxin my stockers at 15psi :( WEAK!

If I do whoop you good, then Ill have to call out for some mid 13 cars...... but I dont think Im there yet.... maybe once I get full exhaust and can turn it up to 20psi..... but who knows.

Sorry, my work computer decided to up and reboot right after my last post yesterday...and then it was time for me to leave anyway, then went straight to bandi with a buddy.

Lets set something up in the next day or 2, Im making a call to someone about fixing my tranny tonight, so depending on what he says, that may be coming out this weekend, so the next 2 days would be perfect.

I have a great spot out by my house, where I did my datalogging the other day, we could try that, I dont want to go to far, as once the tranny fluid warms up, its starts leakin pretty good.

If 1 or both of you wanna come out, that works for me.

I know I gotta be close to 13's now.... when I was at bandi last night, I saw the WRX I pretty much raped BEFORE I tuned, and he ran 15 flat at 92... my last run at bandi was a 14.9 at 89 and that was over a year ago... the car has come along quite well since then, and when I raced this guy I didnt even launch, let him get half a car on me, then punched it, and by 75, I was just over 2 cars ahead...

PM me if you guys want, with a night that works, preferably before Sunday, and Ill get you my details and directions.

Im not far from Colfax and Airport, I could meet you at the big Diamond Shamrock there on the corner......

lots of traffic at that time tho, atleast out where Ill want to run, but we could always do a couple of slow rolling pulls, after all its just for comparison.

I would, but Id rather not drive the car all over gods green acre, somewhere within 5 miles of me, cool, or come to my area, cool... but like I said, I start leakin pretty bad after the fluids warmed up, and Id rather not leak more then I have to, Ive filled it up twice now (thought I had the leak fixed both times), and this shit isnt exactly cheap to keep refilling.

Ive only had the car out of the garage 3 times in the last 2+ months, 1 to see if my last attempt at the leak was a success.... nope, 2 to make sure the 550's didnt leak after I installed them, and 3 to tune the 550's.

Can he fix a hairline crack in the bell housing??? Its not a simple seal fix.... i did that twice already.....

And what is ACS? The last person I trust with a part from my car is someone who doesnt specialize in DSM's.... hence I do 90% of the worky myself, and the guy im calling tonight does DSM tranny rebuilds in his spare time.

I've been going to them for over 3 years now and have been sponsored by them the last two.
Carl and Shawn have been working on DSMs since their inception and once they fix something it stays fixed. (unless you thrash on it too hard ;))

I do most of the bolt on work on my car but I leave tranny/clutch fixits to them. They've rebuilt my tranny and done my last two clutches and it shifts better than it did ever when it was stock.

mrdmdstar, question? did you do your fp upgrade and 550's at the same time or did you do the fuel pump a prior time?
Im just wondering because Im going to buy a fuel pump in attempt to get rid of some of my knock. I dont have the cash for injectors yet. I think 2g maf will come before injectors.

I did the pump way before the injectors, hoping that would cure my lean problem.... it did to an extent.... but i was still getting pretty bad knock on colder days, reason was, I was outflowing the stock injectors.... this was only on 15psi too, I turned it down to 13 on colder days (if I drove the car) and left it at 15psi on warmer ones (didnt lean out as much with hotter muggier air).

Doing them at the same time would be the best IMO, I didnt have the money to do both at the same time tho, so I did pump first, then injectors.

I've logged my 1/4 mile runs and have had only 2-4 counts of knock in 3rd gear and 19-22 degrees of advance timing and I'm running 16psi on the stock fuel system. I know I'm pushing it and have all the parts to do my fuel pump and re-wire. I am real lazy and keep procrastinating on doing it but I'm getting closer.

I hope to have my 550s by next month,$$$ been a little tight.

Yeah sure, I still wanna run. I was at Bandi on Wed. and ran a 14.3 @ 96, 14.4 @ 98 & a 14.3 at 100. I should be 14 flat but I kept hitting the nitrous too late and my car bogged a little. I just got the nitrous last week so I'm still figuring out the launches.

Milo, ok, my car is still at ACS, and so far they havent been able to fix my leak.... I got this bad feeling Im going to be stuck with a huge bill and a STILL leaking tranny....

If thats they case, im going to drive it straight to bandi, run it dry, then push it into my street, strap some C4 to it, and blow the fuckin thing up, Ive lost faith in all mechanics if I get some stupid fucking bullshit "Sorry, we dont know, its uhh...your tranny" story.....

NO SHIT FUCKWEEDS, FIX IT!!!

Well they havent yet... but when i talked to carl yesterday, he pretty much hinted that hes running out of options.... Ive been impressed with the service aspect, carl has kept me updated and told me what he wants to do/ask permission to do it, so Ive been happy there.....

On the other hand, I have no idea how much labor hes got in it right now, and the LAST thing I want, is $500 worth of labor later, to be told "Sorry, I tried everything, I dont know why its leaking.... that will be $500, thank you drive thru".

I still got my fingers crossed, but at the same time, Im not holding my breath..... I told him, he came highly recommended, so Im hoping Im being taken care of......

DnVr

I hope its fixable, they have always done a good job on my car but some parts just cant be fixed sometimes.
work with them, give him a call and ask where your at and what the options are.

Mrdmdstar
05-29-2002, 02:59 PM
Just got off the phone with Carl... he says they got it fixed. Im still skeptical as his reason didnt make sense to me, but I really dont care as long as it doesnt leak...... I was dreading to ask him what the final bill came to, as they have had it since Thursday of last week.....

$107.63, Ill be more satisfied if I can drive it home, park it and NOT find a puddle under it the next morning.... THEN ill be happy and excited, but for now, im atleast relieved....

DnVr
05-29-2002, 03:01 PM
107$ is what the final cost was?
thats cheap if you ask me!

Mrdmdstar
05-29-2002, 03:07 PM
Yes, im pleasantly surprised with the bill.... I was figuring more like $300-$500 range...... :)

Now ill be even more estatic like I said...if I can get it home tonight, and NOT find a huge puddle in the morning...

Actually...now that I see DNVR posted his car as burgundy, this makes sense.... my brother has a burgundy 91 GSX with DSM Racing across the windshield, and he lives in some apts right next to a par 3 golf course, I think its Greenview or something (in Aurora)....

Im sure hell run ya sometime, his best is a 14.8 but I know his car is faster then that, would be a good race if your in the low 14's.

I live about 5 minutes from there.... so least we wont have to go far if thats where your at.....

Gimmie a couple days, im re-tuning tomorrow night, ground my O2 gauge to the wrong AFC ground and it was screwing up my tuning, so when I disconnected it, it went WAY rich, so now I gotta re-tune tomorrow night.

I talked to my brother, he thinks hes seen your car, were you the one that revved on him at a light then chickened out with your girlfriend in the car? Hes seen a couple, but the one revved at him, then chickened out... hahahahaha.... Im faster then he is, you sure you still wanna run? :)

If I ever rev on someone, I will not chicken out. I'm not scared to race anyone. I may lose, but that's life. Tell him to "bring it." Does he know what color it was? Next time I see him, I'll stop and say hi.

There's this other guy at Greensview that had a Porsche 944 that I was dying to race...he never would. The only time my car had a chance to race him was when he rev'd on my wife when I wasn't in the car.
