Can you change the color of your turn signals? I want to sooo badly but I have a feeling it's illegal and I'll get pulled over.... more.....
They're not legal, but whether or not a police officer enforces it is another thing.

Is it just a fix it ticket? 50 dollar fine?
No clue, but you can't have blue, green, etc. because it's the same color as police lights or someshit. Weston-lawenforcement, or someone else care to post the law?

Front turn signals may be amber, white, or any color in between. Rear turn signals may be red or amber. The use of red on the front of the car, or blue anywhere on the car may also get you in trouble for impersonating an emergency vehicle. Purple is a color to stay away from, as it may be interpreted as red and/or blue. Green is a bad idea too, because it is reserved for emergency vehicles acting as a command post.

so whitish blue? would that work? I'm not strapping these all over my car, it's just turn signal bulbs....

You might be able to get away with those so-called "hyperwhites", as long as they are more white than blue, but it is technically outside of the range that the law allows. I prefer a nice bright yellow myself, since everyone else has either white or amber.

Does anyone here have any experience with this?

yea you MAY be able to get away with them in the front but i know you wont be able to in the rear because of blinding other people behind you and so on and so forth. It would probably be a $50-$100 fine. not worth it if you ask me....

How about a bowl of rice?
Just use normal white bulbs in clear lenses, that looks clean.

I went with clear signal lenses on my 4Runner and never upgraded the stock bulbs so they are just an off-white compared to my upgraded headlamp bulbs and look fine and they don't draw attention.

i guess my question is why?
what i dont get is why people rice their cars like this? first of all you cant see any of your lights when you drive. so while you think they look cool everyone else thinks your a stupid riceboy, and the cops now have a reason to pull you over. the rest of the world has regular yellow turnsignals. why do you feel the need to be so different?
here's an idea, how about you just drive the car, and enjoy it? why do you feel the need to turn it into a christmas tree? everyone else on the road is laughing at you anyway for ricing out your car.

Because my white turn signals are brighter than my amber ones were. I guess brighter, more visible signals are ricey though.

nice try! lol in actuality white are not brighter they just look brighter. and if standard yellow wasnt bright enough the auto makers wouldnt be able to meet DOT standards.
face it, you just want to be different, you just want to fit in to the rice crowd. you want everyone to think your car is special. its ok we all go through it, eventually we grow up and realise nobody cares what your car looks like except you.
ita just like baggy jeans and baggy pants, kids wear them so they fit in. everyone is worried about how other people will view them. they want to get the respect of others. we eventually grow out of thoes stupid trends though. it happens at different ages for everyone though.
if you feel the need to be a riceboy with your car you wont understand or believe what im telling you till your a little older.
so dont worry about it, do as you like. we will just keep our laughter to ourselves.

i'm tired of giving a cop a reason to pull me over. so if you want red/blue/purple/rainbow, whatever. feel free to, i'd love for the cop to watch out for your car instead of spotting my grocery getter
I changed my rear taillights to clear/red but didn't change out the turn signal light, so it's white instead of amber. I had a lakewood cop pull me over and tell me it's suppose to be amber, so i'll probably change it to amber when i get back.

Yeah, I guess keeping my smoked signals with amber bulbs that you couldn't see at all during the day and barely at night made more sense than using bright white lights and new clear lenses.
Jesus fucking christ, you've opened my eyes to how much of a ricer I am! I think I'll go out right now and get amber bulbs to put in there, because holy shit! Nobody can see my turn signals!
Anyway, when I'm your age, I hope I can type as well as you :D

If I had a ricer car I'd consider it ricerish, but my car has a pretty clean european look. I think all the rice bashing is pretty ironic coming from a forum of asian import cars
I spent a couple of hours looking up the laws, long story short in the front you can have amber and white, on the back you can have amber and red. I've decided to go with the silvervision bulbs. The ones that are silver/chrome looking but emit an amber light.
BTW preludeshfan go douche the sand out of your vagina, constructive criticism is always welcome but you're immaturely putting down others for being "immature."
:ethug:
Grow up.

It has to be yellow I think. Blue and red are emergency colors, Just blue is sometime security.
