So we're going strawberry picking with a bunch of other families from our babysitting co-op, and we get on some rural highway out to the strawberry farm, 55 MPH 2-lane highway, and we get stuck behind a bunch of bicyclists. They are all done up in their bike shorts, spandex bike shirts with flags and logos all over them, snappy bike helmets, funny little biking shoes, the whole works. It was like the Tour de Redneck (you'd understand if you spent any time in rural North Carolina). They hogged the whole road, going 20-30 MPH. If there was no oncoming traffic, they would actually spread out across the road into the oncoming traffic lane. people would try tpo pass them and get stuck in the oncoming lane, there was almost a head-on collision at one point. We honked and revved the engine, but held off on the obscene gestures and screaming profanity (kids were in the car). WTF is wrong with these people? If they'd just ride on the right side of the road, then we could at least go around them. We were stuck behind them for over 7 miles before we got to our turn-off. I think if they had turned onto that road ahead of us then my wife would have run them over.

:werd: The roads just outside of Boulder have had a problem with this for years. There is a single file law, but it's rare that they follow it. They're just a bunch of pretentious asshats that think they're better than everyone and that they own the road. They start road rage, then call the cops, crying that some car swerved at them. :rolleyes: It got so bad a few years ago that the cops really cracked down on them for a little while.

I almost ran over a biker coming back from red rocks, the asshat was right in the middle of the lane, not to the side.. I rode his ass for a while and than passed him in the opposite lane and yelled "Sidewalk, ASSHOLE!"
