N/a loses a lot of power up here. Trust me on this. Either way, its different strokes for different folks. I like having a nice car that might not be as fast but it still looks good. Ill actually be doing more looks on my car for a little bit and then start doing power mods again. The general consensus on this board is go for speed and not looks but thats their opinions. Do what makes you happy and screw what others think.

Ok let me chime in here... A whole second... absolutely some cases more... I moved from Denver to Huntington Beach a year ago... the minute I got my accord here (CA) it was like a raped ape... then I drove back just recently this year and my corolla was not as fast and I could absolutley tell... Did not like it at all and could not wait to get back down to Sea Level... One thing you will notice about this board, is the majority of people that are building a fast car are boosting, you will not seem but a few people trying to Build an all-motor monster. SOme have tried but the Altitude sucks the dream right out of them...
Welcome, But the New Si stock is not very fast at all, Put some mods and you got yourself a pretty good runner. Looks are exactly what people say, Different strokes for different folks... I think they are ugly... But so is my car but I bought mine for gas mileage and daily driving until Project S15/RB25 is complete...

My car ran 12.6 all motor here and I picked up to 11.7 by going to Firebird int'l raceway in Arizona with just jet changes. Blew up the rear end because the rear was happy with mid 12's, but really unhappy with the extra power at 120 feet ASL. It took a 125HP N2O shot to get it back to 11.6's at 5800'. The altitude makes a HUGE difference. Just my $.02

BOT - considering sea level Z's can hit very low 13's or even high 12's w/ a very good driver and lightly modded... up here in Denver they run 15.1+ and that's with even a seasoned dragger. Altitude can easily add a second+ to your 1/4 mile time. A 15.7 geo might humble you.

My car is rated at 15.5 1/4 stock I ran out here and hit 16.036. I was expecting 16.5 with altitude. What do the stock Si's run? Like everyone else stated altitude def. makes a difference I always expect about a 1sec difference.

I don't want to get into a pissing match, but AWD is nice for about 30 feet, then the extra drivetrain just soaks up power, and when you start making big power, AWD parts start blowing up. Plus, a well set up RWD car transfers the majority of the weight to the drive tires when they need the traction the most, right at launch... of course I'm talking about drag racing. Auto-x, and even street driving, is a totally different animal.

Go figure, but my car (a 1994 Volvo 850 HPT) is supposed to run 15.6s stock. I got it to run a 15.89 stock up at Bandie with 120k on the clock.

This year with just an intake it ran a 15.42.

As for the "import scene", it is nonexistant. Cops here took FnF pretty damn seriously so it seems. There used to be organized races at Horsetooth Dam in the Fort, now there are just a bunch of punk-asses :ethug: that cruise College on Fridays and Saturdays.
