An S2000 w/ 55 shot. I'm still getting used to launching my car and when I need to kick in the nitrous. I need to hit it when my rpms drop to about 6.5-7k. I was hitting it right about when I gained traction so I bogged a little anyway. I'm thinkin' about a 14 flat w/ or high 13's with those traps

Not to make a big stink, but this is High Altitude Imports. Pueblo still falls into that category.

Texas is kinda different story. If it were up to me, I'd say any track in the state of CO. In that case, Murdock could throw up his 14.1 from GJ.

Paul, bring it to PMI.. the track sucks.. but it is ALOT cheaper. ;)

I say Pueblo is fair game. I've run there before and was a bout a half second slower because the track is so shitty. It's all in Colorado so I believe it's fair. Any advantage that track gives over bandi is negated by the poor surface. Paul, you guys should come down here sometime and we can all head out to PMI for a few runs. Maybe it wont be too bad on drag radials.

I really want to go to pmi cause i hear that for 1.8t's it drops your time by 2-3 tenths fo a sec. I have a friend with a modded 1.8t that runs 14.3's and bandi and 14.1's at pmi.

yep, bone stock, until today when i cut some plastic off my airbox, does that count? didnt really notice any gains just a much deeper sound and a little phhht when i let off the gas.
the best stock sea level time ive seen is 14.62.

To tell the truth, I'm kinda embarassed to post my times with everyone being so damn fast. But I did manage to take out a bike by going .085 over my dial in, and it got us some points for club clash! I don't think I did too bad for my first time out. Plus everyone told me I NEED to launch higher. Maybe I'm just too easy on my babe, but now I want to break lower times.

Thank you! Ok, I now admit that I am totally hooked on going, and I hope to have boost by the next club clash. It really felt good when everyone told me I had a good RT for my first time out. A 17.085 isn't too bad for my first time out, is it? I can probably knock that down with a harder launch, so maybe next time I go up I won't have such shaky hands! I really was nervous that night, but getting to round two felt pretty good.

your going to have to launch HARD, if you can get your 60' time down say 2 tenths your et will go down maybe 2-4 tenths

you should be able to hit a low 15's easy if you shave a couple 10ths off your 60'
what are you launching at? I am launching at 5k or so and just slipping the clutch enough to engage with this method I've been hitting consistant 1.8- 1.9's. Get a 2600 if your clutch is going out, 2600's kick ass;RoCkOn;

yeah, my clutch sucks. but i'm gonna go with the CFDF instead. i like my tranny and would much rather by a new clutch than rebuild the tranny.

i also have a feeling that runnign 25psi in the tires didn't help much either. but i only had time for 2 runs. next week i'll bump the tire pressure up and give it a shot.

Uhh, 20psi (even on the T25) and only 15.5 @ 86? I'd guess you are knocking like MAD, Art. Try some 101? Pushing the T25 that hard will surely turn it into a heat pump...

Re: tire pressure - no need to drop pressure for AWD launches. I ran 32psi in my Nitto 450s all the time, and pulled 1.7 60's. It seemed to be enough to let them spin when needed, but not so much that they didn't grab.

Is pushing that T25 at 20psi doing anything,especially with the stock exhaust? I agree with John,you're pushing just hot air.
I ran a 15.72 bone stock back in '96,just spare/tools removed and a 1/4 tank of gas.

In the tire pressure dept. I would just run at least stock tire pressure,I bumped mine to 44psi in each and the car was much easier to launch with less chance of bogging the turbo.

i was running 25psi in the tires last night.:smashfrea

next week i'm going to pump them up some more and pray that i get the tires to slip during the launch.

i logged the car and i'm not pulling timing at 20psi. it holds 20psi from 3k to about 4,500 rpms, then drops off to 15 psi. but on the other hand, my IC is so heat soaked at the end of the run that i idle at 1,500rpms til i hose it off. unfortunately i can't see knock til i get a DSMLink. which i'm hopeing to have installed by the end of the summer.

then next step for the car is a 122 performance 3" turbo back, DSMLink, CFDF, and finish the fuel system. hopefully i can get this done before x-mas so i can put the engine in a shop for a rebuild. don't want to blow it when i finally get a 20g on there.

but its all about the time and money right.

Ok, I totally had the 13 last friday, but had to hit the brakes so I wouldn't break out. I ran a couple more 14.0@100+ and then ran a 14.1@93mph on the brakes hard. I just put the drag radials on for the first time last friday. Best 60' so far is a 2.2... I will have to work on that. I got to go buy a helmet though :) Now I can go run my 13!

Thanks a lot. My 60ft. was only 2.4, I've never been able to get better than a 2.4 ever. I believe the stock tires, Potenza RE010's are not the greatest for launching. I was pretty shocked with the time myself. I previously had what I believe was the fastest stock Type R time at 15.8, and I choped 2/10's off that. I'm not 100% positive what I did "right" on that run, I guess my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts were just cleaner then usual or something.

Definately NOT traction issues. S&S let me use a brand new set of ET Streets. I can now launch at 6k, (redline) and it pulls pretty good out of the hole...no bogging, just pulling.


I'm not sure why I lost the MPH. I know the car is tuned safely now, but apparently the chip that was installed when I did the blower is set for low timing; it's 16-straight accrossed the board.

We're gonna try to either adjust the timing or get another chip.

Does that mean that that's what happened to my MPH??

No, but it might mean that's why I wasn't in the mid-low 12's...either that or the upper 80-degree weather or the really low pressure.

your MPH loss is most likely from the rolling resistance of the et streets. slicks and cheaters will drop your ET and your MPH. it is like running down the track on two flat tires.

Now that I'm not so embarrased to post it, I got a new best time out of my car today. 16.225 @ 85.67 MPH, with a 2.424 60' time.

Thats with a 1.6L SOHC with an 8 PSI JRSC, full interior other than donut tire and CD's from inside the car which I took out, and a full tank of gas. That J&S ultrasafeguard works like a charm, letting me lean out the fuel just right, and not having to worry about detonation whatsoever, even with fully advanced timing.

My first run of the day was 16.815 which pissed me off since I did 16.84 at 6 PSI. So I gained .615 just adding 2 PSI, not bad... That should be good for the 15 second club during the winter when it's a lot cooler. I didn't even add the high flow cat on yet, I'm guessing that will subtract another .1 or .2 . I'm pretty happy, but I think nitrous would still be kewl just to break into the 14s

Well I got a new best time as well but at the expense of a messed up motor mount..:( It appears just a bolt came off of the mount.)This happened on my second run and after that I couldnt hardly drive it. Luckly my dad came up with a trailer and we towed it home. anyways heres my new time.

I was running about 1.4-1.5 bar race gas. The turbo shaft seperated on the third run of the day...ending it.

Scot - The T66 is nice, but if you are going to keep the nitrous, consider a T72. If I still had a small shot I'd be all over the T72 - it'll make gobs more power than the T66...

Tell you what - you buy a T72 and I'll trade you my T66 plus some $$? :) :) I'll even throw both turbine housings, the .7 and the .84...

Well...I just ordered a new T61 from turbonetics today. Going with the .58 a/r. I considered a T66..but I prefer quicker spool of the smaller housing. I did buy the turbo used from Larry..on the bases that he told me it had been checked out thoroughly and was in great shape. He still might warranty it though..who knows.

I wanted to go with the T66 w/.58 a/r but I have heard not to do this...because of possible compressor surgre. I am only on 720cc injectors...so the T72 would have been a little large for my taste. Especially on my auto. I was actually going to ask if you wanted to sell your turbo...but then I decided to just buy new for the peace of mind.

Finally started to hook these drag radials up. After 6 runs of 2.3 second 60's, I finally cut a 2.083!!! That's all I needed, plus 14psi boost to hit ----------------

I sent some pics to you. The T61 is barely bigger than the SP60. Danny C. has a SP60 on his car and we compared the turbo size and it was pretty close.
