yeah the compressor housing looks a little larger...but's that's about it. I'm really confused as to what turbo I should get. I am almost considering cancelling my order for my T61..and getting something different. Just have no clue what to get!!!!

I also beat the "1BADLS1" C5 vette (off the bottle ;) ) and a supercharged 'stang that ran a 14.2@114
Awwww shit, you're back in front of me.:Peace:
I really need 20psi now.
Scot - are you going to keep the nitrous on the car? Are you going to get a high stall converter? If so, go T66. You won't be disappointed. :) *ahem*
Warren Chang from Chicago (drizzt3117 on moron, er, supraformums) has made 708 rwhp out of a T66 with stock longblock, and something like 850 rwhp with some nitrous. He ran a 10.14 with an automatic...
If you are looking for that kind of power. If not, the T61 is a GREAT turbo. Have you compared the compressor maps at turboneticsinc.com ?
http://turboneticsinc.com/comp_maps/fig1.html
Cheers.

Scot,
T61 and SP60 are going to produce similar power levels. I would go with johns suggestion and get a T66 and a high stall :). I've got a 3600rpm stall in mine and it launches hard. I cut a 2.1 60' with a ton of wheel hop and me letting off the gas a little. This was with street tires too.

F@ck!! You guys got me all confused now!:)
I think I'm going to cancel the order for my T61 today...I am also looking into a PHR Stage 2 turbo....I like the powerband of those turbos.
What a/r should I get with the T66? I was thinking a .70 a/r. and I am thinking a Q-trim wheel...I have heard they spool a cunt hair faster than the P-trim.
I am keeping the nitrous and I should have an upgraded stall soon.

I just hit a 15.225 and back it up with a 15.253 this past Wed at the test and tune. I am going to be adding a a/f computer with VTEC control and playing around with a few different intake options over the next couple of weeks. I also have stickier tires and light weight rims on the way, so 14's might not be too far off!

I have not clue what it weighs, we are not good enough for Bandimere to fix the scale, we have to wait until after NHRA is over. Even then it probably won't work.

They had to have it calibrated for NHRA because most of the classes have weight restrictions. They were installing it last night before we left. Congrats again on the win. I guess I cant win them all huh?

Right now all it is, is an intake and an exhaust. The fun is going to be over this two weeks were I am going to do some major work and really get the thing going faster. I am hoping for mid 14's or a little quicker. Then I am thinking about the bottle for the import event in September.
OK - I ran a 12.521 @ 121.40 at PMI on June 14th. Put me into the rotation. :)

Friday night Club Clash, finally hooking the drag radials...
Dropped pressure to 15-16 psi, spin them hard to the line. Let the clutch out easy at 3200-3500 RPM, squealing the tires for nearly the whole 60'....got a 1.928 60' time. This helped me drive to my new best time 13.232@104.02 !! Back into the top ten!!!
Only bad thing was it was first round of eliminations, and a girl in a Del Sol cut a .503 light to my .519 light and broke out .09 seconds to my breakout of .108 !!
Oh well, I should have known I had a good launch - I beat her at the end of the track by about 2 feet.
BTW, V8SpankR was ready to run 3000Spyderman, but the VR4 never showed up....

Well unfortunatly I was having problems with the Walbro fuel pump and had to put the stock one back in but I did better my 1/4 mile by a little with the boost set at 17psi with a 15.544@99.36mph.
I'll have a Nippendenso pump in next week and tune again for 20psi.

Well unfortunatly I was having problems with the Walbro fuel pump and had to put the stock one back in
i did some searching recently for fuel pumps and i found nothing but BAD things about walbro pumps. and i saw that at high presures the 255lph flows around 30lph. most of the people compared it to bosch and said the walbro "is cheap and flimsy when compared to bosch" . anyway i decided NOT to buy a walbro pump:)

Interesting. I've got the 255lph pump on my civic and have yet to have a problem with it, other than the whining noise it makes, but I've become somewhat accostomed to that now. Also, I've heard that the Holley pump is just a rebadged Walbro, not sure about the Bosch tho.

Shane's right about the POS Walbro - they are deceptively marketed as a "255 liter/hour" pump. They will flow that at 20psi, but bump it up and it falls on it's face.
Where you may see a problem with the pump is if you need more than 250hp at fuel pressures over 60psi (base feul pressure + boost pressure).

here is the chart i found. (i posted 30LPH and i meant 30GPH) as you can see the flow drops in half where you need it most.

I will run one more time this weekend slicks, at the ET series race. Then I will take the turbo off......and put on my new....*ahem* larger turbo
The PTET66 killer turbo..

HA biotch! You could take me right now with this PTE66...It's running like SHIT!!! It has a HUGE dead spot around 14psi of boost. I'm not sure if something else is wrong with the car or what....I only replaced the turbo itself. WEIRD. I'll have to tear into it again and see. It's possible I may have blown a front seal, cause it's been leaking a little more oil from the front of the engine lately:(
So what turbo are you going with? Any bigger and you will NEED a fuel system...hope that is in the works.

Yes I have seen many driveshafts snap before, but they have this neat little protection device called a drive shaft loop for safty regulations..... and I have that.
The tower wanted to inspect a cage since I ran that fast.
Barrel rolls are barrel rolls, so... if I did loose control roll cage or not... you would get taken out.
Its for MY safty....not yours. But I'm sure you already knew that
You dont have anything to worry about anyhow, I wont be at the track for a while, and I will have a cage next visit.

I think a roll cage might be a good idea if your driving or racing out on a public road too (you know it happens, how many 11 second cars are out on the street) since if something did go wrong I don't think medical techs would be on you in 30 seconds like at Bandi so I wouldn't say a cage is worthless unless you think your life is.
Drag racing is especially dangerous off the track but at Bandi it pretty non life threatening. I don't think anybody has been killed and compare deaths in Drag racing over the last 20 years compared to other professional racing like NASCAR.

I totally agree...On the Track an 11sec car is trapping in the 120+ range and if say your tire decides to go then its gonna hurt, but itll hurt alot less if you have the safety equiptment required.
I think that on the track 11sec is a good time to get a cage, but if your one of those damn punks in there moms saturn or what ever, and do stupid stuff like passing people on the shoulders of the highway to get around then you should be required to have a cage..Thats more dangerous than driving an 11sec car in a straigh line. Plus on the strip you only have 1 other car to worry about.

Tobi, toby. However it is spelled. Shayn Knows he needs a cage. I dont know why you continue to argue with him when he knows what he needs. We are so backed up with cars getting cages in before the race our cars come last. I dont blame shayn for going to the track with his new turbo set up. I think everyone here can say that once you get a new part in the car you about die until the next race or test and tune. We had no clue what his supra would run. I can speculate all day it is going to run 11's. I can speculate that the landrys are going to run 10's. Have they yet? NO! Noone knows what they are going to run until it is done. Now that shayn has ran the 11 we know that a cage is in the supras near future. END OF STORY.

This is true for the most part, but once you are fast enough, the situation changes. This is why the safety rules are there. I've seen the results of a clutch letting go, going through the transmission, through the floor, and hitting someone in the leg. On an 11 second car. And I've seen axles break on 8 second cars, along with brakes sticking at the far end of the track when a car is still well over 100mph. There really isn't a good excuse to not have the equipment required, except for one time - when you don't expect the car to go that fast. And like it was mentioned earlier, at that point, pack it up and go home. Go home happy, that is, for your car is faster than you thought.

i agree with fullthrottle on this, even though i may not like the bullshit rules imposed on me.. but those rules are usually there for a reason... there never is a guarantee that they will keep people from getting hurt, but they probably help keep safety to a maximum... if i ever do make it to the 11's i think i'd want a rollcage just because at the trap speeds possible for 11's i dont think the roof is strong enough to handle the rollover if it was to happen..(this is coming from a guy that has rolled 2 cars in his life)
you can disregard the safety rules if you want,it's your safety mostly at risk, but i would use them as a guideline rather ignore them..:smoker:

There is a good point Mik. But in an earlier post which has been deleted he said he had been doing it for years. That is what got htis whole thing started. Bandimere stands behind me on this I know. It is actually likely that he would hit me, see, I race in the bracket class and we would be crossing the line at the same time, him at 120+ and me at around 85. To whom this may concern (Full throttle);
I think the question to ask yourself is, "What is the purpose of a roll cage"? Knowing that might have helped you make sense when approaching Shayn with the comments about him endangering your well being because of not having a roll cage.
That time that was made at Bandimere was amazingly fast, had he known that he would run such a time, I'm sure he would have had a roll cage, actually I know for a fact he would have had a roll cage.
And keeping up with him in your little braquet racing.......? I think not. Maybe if he did the meesley braquet racing but there is nothing he will gain out of that, so sorry to say you will never have to race him. If you do, all you will see is blinking hazards!

11.8 isn't AMAZINGLY fast ;gay;
BRACKET racing takes talent, having the most cash and being able to drive straight is something a 6 year old on crack could do. There is always somebody with more money and a faster car. Again, I say the people that hate bracket racing are the people who cannot make it past the first round in competition.
Fullthrottle made a blanket statement about the safety issues, not just about the roll cage. What is the point of building an 11 second car if you cannot race it at any NHRA sanctioned racetrack in the country? Besides the real racers who are at the track every week hear so many excuses from people who bench race its a Joke. I can't put a cage in, I half to haul 2 by 4's, and grocery's!

I remember when I had to cage the pimp van. I didn't get all butt hurt about it. I just sucked it up and was a man about it. Now not everyone has deep pockets like me, but it;s nothing a little weekend pay-for-hand-job marathon can't get you.
Now while i'm not into this ass humper sport of bracket racing I do respect it. I know I can't drive consistent all night. It's hard when you ahve 3 fat bitches in your van. Two for traction in the back and one up front to suck you off while you race. My point is I understand both sides....... Afterall I am the smartest man alive.

uhh to race it on the STREET where it fuc$ing belongs.
Yeah, racing belongs on the street with families and old people in the way. Just go around them or run them off the road, they shouldn't be there anyway.
Street racing is gay. All it does is kill people and give car guys a bad name. You want to know why every guy with a hopped up import gets hassled by the cops? It's because of street racers.
Sorry for the rant, but racing belongs on the track, no exceptions. I've heard all the excuses, we only race on back roads, we only do it late at night, we only go to third gear, we race from a roll on deserted highways. IMNSHO, all of them are BS. You can never say for sure that someone won't pull out in front of you or that you won't hit a sand spot or oil or anything else.
We all risk our own lives going fast, that's fine. It's when our fun involves danger to other people that it gets out of hand. Do what you want to yourself but nobody has the right to make a decision that affects another persons right to live.

I'm not 100% guilt free, but I can honestly say that I haven't been in a street race in 10 months, that one was against BoraTurbo and got a cross board flame war going...
I'll drive briskly from time to time too, but never more than 80% on public roads. It's just not worth it to kill some poor sap who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The final thing that made me think this way is the constant harrasment by the cops. I finally asked one why they were always on our ass and he said it was simply street racing. Personally I get really irritated when I get pulled over because my car fits a profile that's been created by others.
Some of Bandimere's rules are a little "over the top". I understand that some of you feel it's your life so things like a cage aren't needed. In a way I agree with you because if you roll and die, it was your life... However some rules are there for the safety of others too, and a scatter shield is a good exampple. Not only are you in danger if your clutch explodes, but so are the spectators and the track staff and the guy racing you if it comes apart hard enough. The chances of that happening may be small but how would you feel if the one time in a million happened to you and you had some guys life on your hands, especially if it was preventable?
IMO the safety rules are there whether we like it or not, but following them is still perferable to street racing.

How can you tell a car is travelling at a high rate of speed? Especially at night which is when 99% of all street races occur? You can't.
And besides, you may not feel sorry for them, but I can assure you that the District Attorney would....
You are right about one thing though, I'm not going to convince everyone. I just hope to add a opposite opinion so that people can see the whole story and decide for themselves.
As far as brackets go, I's run heads up if I could find a real class with rules that keep it fair. I just don't see the point in beating the snot out of cars that run three seconds slower than you so you can advance to haveing the snot beat oout of you by a car that goes three seconds faster. Boring.
To be honest I only go to Bandimere to spend time with my friends. I like hanging out with everyone on Club Clash night because since we're all over the state that's the one time we cn all get together and have fun as a group. If it weren't for the HAI Club Clash team I wouldn't go at all, I'd just keep it to races with turns.

We just choose not to braquet race and plus its a totally different sponsor. Another thing, if you are a faithful racer, you would have seen us there on Wednesday for the past 2 wks. I would like to thank Shane for his intelligence and humor. Civicgirl and I both know street racing and bandimere racing. Neither one is safe! But it's done whether anyone likes it or not. People don't street race with the intention of endangering others lives. Its not the smartest way of racing but its also not even a real term.
I would like to know how a roll cage makes you faster? You are reading this right now wondering why you even said that! Yep, you know who you are......

What's the difference? You get in line, you wait, you line up and race a random car that lined up with you. What do you get out of it?
Do you race in any kind of organized racing or are you just another one of those street racers who goes out and threatens the lives of other people so you can get your jollys?
In all my life I never thought I'd see someone try to argue that street racing and running without safety equipment makes a person MORE mature. :smashfrea

Because in real racing (read: with turns) chassis stiffness make a huge difference in how a car handles. A roll cage has about the same affect on chassis stiffness as all the strut tower bars your car will take put together. Combine it with all the other suspension upgrades and you have a car that's rock solid and has instantaneous turn in.
Edit: Think about for one minute before you reply. A cage is nothing more than a bunch of bars going back and forth accross the car. What's a sway bar? What's a strut tower bar? That's right, bars going back and forth across the chassis.
Ask any road racer if a roll cage helps performance. They'll all say it does.

Whats the difference? Hmmm ... last time I was aware test and tune was for those who wanted to TEST there car would run and if it wasnt running the way the wanted then the TUNEd it. So wouldnt that be considered TEST & TUNE? For anything that isnt test and tune that would be actual racing and illiminating would occur unlike what goes on at a test and tune. So tell me what your definition of the difference is or if you see any. Isn't that what happens at club clash or all you are doing is running your car and not being illiminated? Boy I guess it has been awhile since you have raced!
Getting jollys off ? Yes racing is fun and for some it is a hobby but what is the point on spending earned money and time in making your car fast if you cant do a damn thing about it? So is what you are trying to say is that everyone who races and who is on this board is in the wrong for doing something they enjoy? I guess people should watch out for the critisum for things that they enjoy and I am sorry they didnt ask for your permission if it was okay.

Wow that was a mouthful. I hope I didnt offend you, you sound kind of mad. I dont go to the track on Weds anymore, my car is consistant enough without the wear and tear of extra runs. Way to put words in my mouth. If you'd actually read anything I wrote over the last two pages you'd know that I'm all for racing....... On the track. It's not your right to go out and street race where you can injure or even kill someone. That's what the race track is for.
I modify my car too. I race my car. The difference is that I do it in a situation where the only people who can get hurt are people who choose to be there, not some Mom driving her 4 kids to soccer practice or some guy who worked late in the industrial park you street racers choose to make your own private racetrack out of.

That 14.955 was on stock tires. Hey, how bad does larger wheels affect our times? I just got 18" wheels mainly for show, but I was wondering what its like racing with those if anyone knows. 225/40/18 kumhos. Weighed stock wheel and tire at 32lbs, and these at 47lbs. So 2 tires and im basically turning a third wheel.

Sweet. Most people turn accords into ricemobiles ([shoots guy I work with]), it's nice to see one actually go fast for once :)
Wait a sec tho, You don't happen to have it colored kindof a purplish/goldish chamelion like color scheme do you?

No I dont have one of those paint jobs...lol....but thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it a lot. Yeah Im pretty happy that my accord is one of the few around these areas that can do what it does. Thanks! You're right though, my friends v6 is all show, but its kind of hard for him since his headers costs as much as my i/h/e. Im going to have to tune my nitrous controller to get some traction for a 75hp shot, hopefully should ge tbetter times.

That's coo. Thought I would ask because I was about dead even with an accord with that color paint scheme, and it turned out he had an H22 swap too, no nitrous tho that I know of. Kinda pissed me off, heheh :)

Well, it doesn't move me too far up on the list, but I ran a new personal best tonight at Bandi (even though I only got two runs in on account of a rather lenghthy cleanup and then some rain).
New best is 13.33 @ 107.59. 1994 Mazda RX-7.

I know, I was dropping like 2 tenths each time I ran, but yeah, the antifreeze clean-up and then the rain, I had it ready to run 18psi (which I just drove home on) I've never said "Jesus" to my cars acceleration until tonight coming home from Bennigans. I was ready for it to cool off, I always run best on the later runs... but I had to go home instead. Don't worry, there's always next week.

I was having some boost issues on my 1st 3 runs, then got that taken care of and ran a 14.6 with a 200lb. passenger and then my new best, 13's next wednesday(fingers crossed):
60' 2.365
330 6.619
1/8 90252
MPH 81.31
1000 11.881
1/4 14.099
MPH 103.00
:) :)
I'm very happy, I was going to be content with low 14's. Oh yeah that was done at 6.5psi...

Titus. Screw your 300ZX. Get a turbo kit, or go home. I need some Hondas in the 12's by July.
You too Tobi. Get some Tires and a clutch for that SC'ed car of yours, that CR-V crank pulley, and lets get you in the 12's too. I need all the wepons I can get. Ever consider a stroker kit too? 1600cc is far too small.:p :p :p
