that should be pretty crazy. WOnder how many of you will end up in jail
I didn't read much, but how do you take that flag, take it from other people, etc? Is it lazer tag or something?
Brian

in capture the flag you have to physically grab the other teams flag and bring it back to your base before the other team gets your flag.

That map is outdated or just plain wrong. The Compass bank on Market between 17th and 18th has been a Guaranty Bank for a long time now.

Crossing the line I.E. Makes fun of my family, hits a girl, etc.
Just talking shit to me will rarely get me to want to fight you. I just tend to let it go now.

In the video games, you usually just shoot the guy who has it and take it... I think we know what we need to do here... :D
Hah.. I can see it now. HAI Gun Club running around downtown with a bunch of semi-autos killing people. "*POP* My flag, BITCH! GTFO."

Ok, so Hung and I are meeting up at the Mineral lightrail station at 2 pm to pre-party. We'll get on the lightrail by 3pm or so. Anyone can join us that is coming from the south. The lightrail runs something like $5 roundtrip and its a lot easier than finding parking in Denver. We should all meet up somewhere in Denver around 5 or 5:30 since CTF starts at 6 pm. If you want to join us and head down with us, just post here so we know who to wait for.

How are they going to keep track of teams?
In toronto they handed out arm bands???
Also, if you get tagged, whats the jail system going to be like?
Do you just have to be escorted back to your base or is there a jail from which you have to get rescued from. Both would suck because walking people back would take like 20 minutes and nobody would rescue the prisoners.

Denver Capture the Flag! May 6, 2006 (http://www.bigandsharp.com/blog/?page_id=195)
A Mile-High Capture the Flag event! We invite you to join us for our first game of Capture the Flag in the entire downtown area of Denver, along the 16th Street Mall from Union Station to Broadway. Defend your territory by tagging trespassers and sending them back to their side. Utilize buses, bikes, and anything else to get to the enemy flag, outmaneuver their flag keepers and dash back for a point in this fast-paced, heart-pumping urban game.
We will meet on the corner of 16th and Curtis in downtown on May 6, 2006 at 6:00pm to hand out maps, divide teams (friends can stay together) and send you off.
Capture The Flag! Denver
Saturday May 6th 2006
16th & Curtis // 6:00 PM
Denver, Colorado, USA
join us for a game of capture the flag
this event is rain or shine
Map below. 10 Volunteers needed. Game can draw nearly 400 people.
The Map
http://www.bigandsharp.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/capturetheflag.jpg
Rules
The Map
The game board is divided into two “sides” along Curtis St. Each side belongs to one team, but Curtis St. itself, the sidewalks around Curtis are neutral. The boundaries shall be to 15th St. to the South; 19th St. to the North; Wynkoop to the West; and Broadway to the East. Because Broadway is a diagonal, the Green Team will have a slightly wider playing area to compensate.
Teams
Each team is chosen at random; but friends’ preferences will be respected.
Wristbands (Green and Blue) will be used to designate teams. You MUST be wearing your wristband to be considered playing and it must be worn visable at all times.
By wearing a wristband, you accept full responsible for your actions and safety and agree to the rules of the game.
Planning Time
Each team is given a flag and is allowed 10 minutes to hide their flag and develop a strategy.
The flag MUST be placed on the corner oftwo surface streets with at least 3 points of approach. No alleys, laneways, circles, dead end streets or underground pathways.
At the end of the 10 minute planning time, a cellular call will go out and the game will begin.
Cellphones will be used to make a telephone chain to keep up team communication.
Territory
Players are safe on their side. If they are in enemy territory, they can be tagged by an opponent. (Tagging does not mean slapping, punching, pushing or any other violent forms of touching). If they are tagged, they must proceed to the Curtis St. border and count to ten. This is on the honor system. Please play fair.
Transportation
Players are allowed to use bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, longboards, taxis, streetcars, and buses as long as they are not carrying a flag.
Captures
A point is scored when the enemy’s flag enters your territory. When a point is scored, you must call a referee for the point to count. Referee numbers will be given out with maps at the game’s start.
The team with the most points at the end of the game wins! :) The game is 1.5 hours in length.
Cost and Age Restriction
Our events are always free and all ages! You do not need to sign up, just show up :) But we appreciate the roll call. If you are late, simply choose a team by putting on an armband, which will be left for you.
This idea was generated because of the clever folks at newmindspace (http://newmindspace.com/), Kevin and Lori. Our game is based on their rules for city-wide CTF games. Thanks!!

Ouch. There were some scary moments. At times when I chasing people down, I was worried about rolling my ankle should I switch directions too sudden. I saw one guy take a tumble and hit the curb over at 18th & California. Brandon said Loud_Scott got pretty banged up. One girl yelled at me cuz I chased her out into traffic.
