Anybody here ever run a MSD DIS-2 H.O.?
Opinions on it, etc.
I already have to gap my plugs down at .026" to keep the spark firing at 25 psi of boost.
Yes I'm positive and have spec'd everything ignition wise, swapped everything and have proven it out myself.
It's the spark getting blown out, .026" gets me to 27 psi and that's it.
Thanks in advance.

before you go spending time and money on a MSD I would suggest you get OEM plugs and wires then go from there. But I heard the MSD does help. But thats my opinion

Thanks guys.
I have oem wires and plugs, I've had magnecors, etc.
I spent a few hours researching some related stuff. I did discover that the NGK plug BPR7ES has a cousin. The BR7ES, this particular plug config doesn't have the "projected insulator" noted by the "P." It has been used, with success, by fellow dsmrs(running low 11's and 10's) to combat the spark blow problem at high boost levels. Sounds like a cheap fix to try out first, eh?!
hmm, I wonder if these br7es plugs would benefit me?
when you say blow out is that like hesitation or stuttering?

its when the amount of boost you have blows the spark out instead of lighting the mixture in the combustion chamber. You should feel a stuttering or hesitation.

The NGK BR7ES's ROCK!
29 psi with no spark issues. I tuned her for 27 psi today.
I guess when these plugs start getting blown out or the cylinder pressure goes much higher I'll be needing the msd dis-2.
Available at NAPA...

I have the msd-DIS 2 installed in my vehicle. One thing I've noticed is the timing curve is much more smoother than the factory timing signal. Also with an MSD you get the two step stutter box which is a great launching tool. Just watch out if you have a 3 bolt rear end.
I'll be up at the track weds re-tuning the car now that the base timing is set correctly. I can't wait to go faster than a 12.4 :).
Vern - How much did the BR7ES's run you and were did you get them?

Yeah that stutter box launch interests me.
4bolt here.
I bought 8 of them, so a little less than $2 a plug at NAPA. The napa store had to get them from their local warehouse. It took them one day extra.

Hehe, I'm planning on being down there.
I know your compressor wheel flows a bit more than mine, so I always expect you to be a bit ahead of me.
I'll be running pump gas today. We'll see what happens...
