I'm sure you guys are all familiar with this shop. I think if you have stickers on your car that say "9 Second Racing" (I've seen a few out here), your car better run 9's on the 1/4. Agree, disagree?
...I think it makes you ricey ricey rice rice :p
I agree. :) I've always thought that everytime I saw this on the eleventy bazillion shit boxes I've seen these stickers on.

when they have a car ANYWHERE near 9 seconds maybe, just maybe it wouldn't be rice, but until then
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!RICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Does 9's in the 1/8 mile count? :D
It's just a name... the guys who run that shop are cool. Eric is a friend of a friend... I met him back when he had just started it. I'm really impressed at how big they've grown and how well known they are these days.
What does it matter anyway? I could start an online store called "Ricer Parts R Us" and sell Altezza tail lights and various other "quality" APC and OBX products... you all would laugh at me and call me rice (well, more than you do now), but I'd be laughing all the way to the bank.

I wasn't ragging on the shop's name (though they better have a 9 second car :p)
I just think putting the stickers on your car if your car isn't that fast is just kinda silly. Also, start that store, it'd be hilarious. Have the best prices anywhere, but force people to buy from a place called "Ricer parts", lol

Well, I'm not sure what it ran, but their 240sx w/ RB26DETT did get the cover and a whole write-up in Turbo Magazine... I'm not big on ricer magazines myself, but I would think that says something.

Its just a shop name. I agree to some extent about it being a lil ricey for an 18 sec car having 9second stickers on it lol but its getting there shop name out. They are cool people one of the few shops around I have respect for. I have not had anything done through them(well from any shop for that matter) but a friend of mine had them convert his rx-7 to single turbo and it came out pretty good.

no, i'm not saying they are not a good shop i've met a few of those guys it's the damn name, i guess it didn't help when the first 1000 times i saw the name it was on some rice ride because of them getting handed out at all the shows, you gotta love free advertisement, lol. but i know the shop the name just gets me, i think their "goal" should be 9's you know if someone asked like this thread that's what i would say and the shops big engough now where i see it not being that hard to pull off
Hey Weston, notice it says "Son of Godzilla"?

Hey Weston, notice it says "Son of Godzilla"?

Yeah, that's an actual magazine calling them that, not themselves naming their project that before they even know what engine they're going to put into it. If an RB26DETT is "Son of Godzilla", then a turbo B16 or B18 would have to be "illegitimate pre-mature daughter of Godzilla".
lol.. :fu:
They named it after me, and that's FINAL. M@lock says so, beya! :-P

That's the shop car of another respected shop in the CO Evo/WRX community.

They have ESP.. and a time machine.

Haha guys, I've never even been to the shop, I don't know if it sucks or not. I just think 87 Honda sedans with the sticker on the back window are rice (and stock SRT-4's that run 13's too)
Group buy for "16 Second Racing" stickers, anyone?

I'll sport one, or maybe a "Faster Than 9 Seconds Racing" sticker..
Kudos to Steve_C for the idea on this sticker.

OK guys, this is Eric from Nine Second Racing, LLC. I am here to set the record straight. Nine Second Racing was started 3.5 years ago by me and two other guys. We thought long and hard for a name and at the time we were going to get heavily involved with drag racing, primarily drag racing actually. But the market immediately changed to drifitng when we got started. So we built the RB26dett 240SX. I built and did everything on this car myself with very little help from a few other people. Here is a link to every picture, about 500 pics I took of the entire build, http://www.9secondracing.com/240/Rb26240SX%20project%20pics/ These pics and the car were built at my old apartment as you can see from the pics. We do a lot of work on a lot of different cars. Some may be "ricey", some may be "show" to us it doesn't matter. We are here to support the local Colorado community and help out anyone who needs it. We get asked by magazines and big sponsors to build them cars and we have your local guy off the straight asking for underglow neons. It is all the same to us. We do the best work we can on any car. Here are more links to other cars we are working on as well as some of the shop:
http://www.9secondracing.com/projects/AE86build/
http://www.9secondracing.com/projects/Issacgalantbuild/
http://www.9secondracing.com/projects/civicbuild/
http://www.9secondracing.com/shoppics/
We know a lot of you on this board and appreciate all your support. We show our appreciation to our clients by giving them stickers for their vehicles, tool boxes, etc. To answer the question of "Do we have a 9 second car" We have two that will be run this summer. One is a 1995 Supra TT, the other is a 1991 1G DSM, both are currently being built at the shop. We also have a new "Show Car" we are working on. Thank You for all your support, and I guess our stickers are working since there is an entire thread about them. Thanks again

TRS is what I was thinking about for my 240, and I like the GTS2's as well. I'd be immediately interested in a harness too, the four-point 2" ones.. but someone local's selling some so I might pick them up there.

Which Harness? Engine? McKinney Motorsports tried to do it for me, it was a bit messed up when I got it so I re-did it.

We have finished all harnesses. We have only done 2 here locally, Many more via online, one was an RB25, the other was an s14 SR20. Each one of those took the standard 4 days. Who are you reffering to?

04-24-2006, 06:23 PM

I'll wander up sometime & see what might be up for my LGT.

I wouldn't base going to a shop or not purely on their name, but mostly how they treat their customers and the quality of the work they do.
That's why I go to Mac Autosport and nowhere else. ;)

I've seen that, too. If your 'import' is 'unique' it better not have been sold in the US.. ever.
