Ok so I finally got everything hooked up and running somewhat. But the idle is fooked!!! Either it will run at 3000 or surge between 15 and 25. So I hooked up the jumper and I am getting CEL #7 TPS sensor.

I have done a ton of reading on HT and they say to set the TPS. Does anyone have a write up on how to set a TPS for a B16 Del Sol? What kind of meter do I need, where do I set it to and how do I set it? Any and all help is NEEDED and GREATLY APPRECIATED thanks!

I set it 2 ways. 1 is the "right" way and one is the "easy" way! With the car running I loosen the TPS and rotate it until the idle is where it should be. The other way is with the scan tool. I can see the voltage it's at and rotate it until it's in spec with the car in the on postition but not running. If yer in the Springs You can hit me up and I'll come set it but Denver there's Tobi and a few others.

Thanks yeah I am all the way up in Loveland. I tried to move it while the car was running and nothing changed. I didnt have a CEL until I stated to move it, so I may need a new one.

Yeah thats a good point lol I know the spring is hooked up in there correctly. There isnt anyone in town with a TPS though hopefully it isnt bad. Also yeah oldschool is it ohms or voltage?

Does it matter if the car is running because I tried to move it with the car running yesturday and it didnt change anything. Could it be bad?

The car should not be running, but the key should be in the "on" position or you won't see any signal. With the TPS plugged in, you want to see .45volts closed and 4.5v open

Thanks I just looked at the helms and it says .5 but I have read anywhere from 4 to 5 usually. How exact does it have to be?

Its easy to get it just right when you're adjusting it... you don't have to be "exact" so like 4.55 would probably be fine, but try to get it as close to 4.5 as possible
