Is it true that you have to replace all four tires every time you need to replace one?

^^It would be a wise venture.

One tire with less grip than others (or out of round) could cause some "inconsistencies" in perforamance & longevity of drivetrain life!

Of course, you could also recieve problems from a mis-allignment and plenty of other little flaws..... but you know how that goes!

No tires just trailing on an AWD vehicle. If you're a spirited driver... odds are, you'll be putting power to all four more often than not!

*From what I've read and heard. I'm not an AWD expert.... hell, I only owned one (LGT) for a year! *

No....as long as your front tires are the same and the rear tires are the same you are good to go....meaning you do have to replace two if one gets F'ed

That's what I figured. I imagine that with as advanced as AWD systems are, one tire having slightly less tread wouldn't make a big deal.

tread can be about 3/32 difference within the tires. Anything more then that abd you'll start to experience binding in the center diff.
