better for boost?

my roommate just bought a 92 prelude si for cheap. it has a h23 in it but the guy he got it from said the timing belt slipped, so we are thinking it has bent valves. not sure yet, hes taking the head of know. he wants to boost the prelude and was wondering what motor would be good to have the h23 or should he get a h22

Why not just put the belt back on and try to see how the motor runs?

the timing belt is on, we tired to crank it over and nothing so we are taking the block apart to see whats wrong with it
