$25 like usual and I'll probably leave my house between 6:30-7 in the morn.
I'd like to meet some other members up there so we can save some pits as much as we can.

I talked to my better half and we will be there.

The gates open at 8,I just show up early so I can get a pit,get inspected and allow the car to cool down before the time trials start. It will be crowded but with a nice day it should run smooth depending on how many times people feel like oiling the track.

AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bracket racing is just too boring. dial-in has no place in drag racing. they dont ask john force what his dial-in is.

anyway answer this, it is called STREET MACHINE SHOWDOWN so why do more than 50% of the cars arrive on a trailer??????????????

also anyone else remember when the cost was $10 race or watch? that was a bargain!

So,if you race John's Supra 20 times in a row and he wins 20 times in a row by over a second I guess you're still having fun, right? :p
Bracket racing requires skill not just power.

I wish they had a rule that you had to drive your car there but oh well.

When it was only $10 to race I'd enter both the import class and the regular street class and I'd get to time trial for both.:D

YEP!!!!!!!!

drag racing is about POWER!

i kinda disagree on the skill part. yes it takes skill to drive your DSM to within a few hundreths every run. but it DOES NOT take skill to drive a slow piece of shit automatic 23 second eye sore to the win.

lets keep the drag racing on the streets where it belongs.:D
(that satement should go over like a whore in church)

You've got a point, but the slow slushboxes don't always win. Those 1/4 Mile Addicts at the club clash are always at the top and they all drive fast cars too.

There's also a stick shift bracket series at Bandimere too. I've been thinking about running in it a few times this year. A little more of a level playing feild there.

If you guys want to race heads up, there's a heads up class at the event on Sunday. Some pretty hefty competition, but some of you guys with fast cars should be able to go at least a couple rounds.

V8SpankR

Shane, what class can you be competitive in at Bandi? Nearly all the heads up classes run at least 10s so odds are you'd get 1 run in and go home or maybe you'get lucky and the big block domestic will break something.
Brackets are where the competition is. I do like how the IDRC is set up with brackets broken down by classes like the 14.0-15.99 and so on,that way you're racing other fast cars.

So,are you gonna show up and race in the king street class, that one's all heads up racing?

shane
05-03-2002, 11:19 PM
nope no racing for me, car not even close to being done. last i remember king street is still bracket racing, no heads up. if i go to a bracket race i treat it as a test and tune where i am gauranteed at least three runs:-) hell i cant compete in the idrc classess but i have fun trying. i just like going down the track and wringing everything i can out of the car and not thinking about breaking out or letting off.

oh well, good luck to those of you racing sunday and have fun.

You may not be able to haqng with the IDRC guys, but you're a crowd favorite every year with those sideways launches. :)

I might just be down with doing this, eventhough I'm about to go get a new clutch today. Yeah, the stock one is going to FRY here pretty soon. Oh yeah, did I tell any of you guys I decided to go turbo?

I know people that really aren't car people that saw Shane's car two years ago that remember those crazy  launches. Entertaining as hell.

generally the people that hate bracket racing are the ones that always lose first round. :D

john

If it ain't heads up, it ain't drag racing. Pretty short & sweet. :D

I mean how often this happen: "You are faster than me, so you need to give me a 2 second head start".

*ahem*
