I got the new lifters and its amazing how big the hole is compared to the stock ones. I paid $128 shipped to SubySports. I reset the computer and made a couple pulls. I got a max of 2 counts of knock but just for a sec and the o2 voltage was around .96v.
Now the only problem im having is that im only getting about 9-11 in hg vacume. When i ran it for the first time last night it was as low as 6in hg. When i rebuilt the TB i noticed that the plate had a slight gap in it between the TB and the edge of the plate, and im wondering if that could be whats causing it. I also need to do a pressure test...
Anyone have a pressure tester set up that could help me?
Define pressure test. Compression test? Leakdown? Pressurize the IC plumbing?
Nice to hear that the "2g" lifters did the trick. You have a gap where? Between the throttle body and the edge of what plate?

Actually the engine has 107k miles on it, and i really need to do all the tests, but i meant IC plumbing test.
The gaps between the butterfly plate and TB. its not much, but its more than my friend mandys TB from her 1g.
Is there away to pressurise the area after the TB? I was thinking the only way to do it would be to remove the lifters from the valves that were being lifted, so all the valves were closed...

You can find leaks close to the intake ports by spraying carb cleaner around all the gaskets and vacume lines. The engine will rev up when you hit the leak. I'm not sure how well that will work once you get farther away from the intake manifold though.

you know i usually see about 14in.hg of vacuum. when she's warmed up it'll go back up to 16-17in.hg. i really think weather and engine temps may have something to do with this.
but then again i don't know shit.
edit- have you checked some of your vacuum lines? i had a nasty hole in one of mine that caused my vacuum to be out of wack. but then i drilled a hole in the brake booster to really mess it up (don't ask).:smashfrea
