Has anyone ever tried to pass emissions with an open wastegate? My plates are about to expire in a couple weeks and I really don't want to have to go back again.
Thanks
I'd be willing to bet it would not pass.

If the dump tube is clearly visible that it doesn't remerge with the downpipe, then they might bark at that. Otherwise, they are looking for cats and EGR for your car.

It is illegal, but it's unlikely that they'll know what it is. So unless it's obvious that it's dumping exhaust separately from the rest of the exhaust system, you should be ok.
If it barks on the rollers, forgetaboutit.

Vince passed emissions with an open tube. They just kinda looked at it for awhile confused and didn't say anything.
I registered my car in Park County when I used to drive it, no emissions there.

yeah emmissions tests *should* be gone in '07, and if you need a test to pass in the basic program area, larimer/weld county, i can help out with that, but if its denver metro/boulder county...cant help you there....

denver and metro/boulder counties are going to have emission for another 2years since they signed a contract with the state for a couple more years....so around 2008 expect to here about something about emission and if they will stop it or not...it's only 5% of cars that acctually fail and it's decreasing since most cars that are in production are low emmision vehicles especially hybrids(they are exempted from emssion)

they need to get rid of it and use the public's help to report smoking cars...
