My GTP Vs. '95 Carrera 4 RWD, Audi A4, 300ZX (NA), and a S2000
I went out to visit Mike at work and show him my new Intake (fender well type). We BS for a bit, then I decide to head home. I Make a Right turn on to Speer at 13th and see a 300ZX and an S2000 waiting for the green. I slow down....waaaaay down. I'm doing 20 in a 40 zone at this point, waiting for them to catch up. Despite my best efforts, the light gods were against me, so I putt along around 20 MPH for about 1/2 mile waiting for them.
Finally I see them start to come up, 300ZX in the left lane, S2000 in my lane (middle) The Z comes up next to me, punches it, I hit it and start pulling on him?!? Hmmm, must be NA, he signals to get in my lane, so I back off and let him in. Yep, NA. Middle lane is clear, so he punches it as we go through the tunnel at Broadway. I get on the throttle enough to keep up, and not drive up on him, S2000 is right there with me. The right lane clears, I signal, move over and floor it, I start pulling quickly, and am around him in short order. We hit a light behind some cars, middle lane 300ZX, S2000, right lane myself, left lane Audi, Porsche. Light turns, the Audi and the Porshe hit it, while they take off we wait for our lanes to clear and start maneuvering through traffic. The S2000 and I leave the Z in the dust and catch up to the Audi and the Porsche.
We catch another light, Porsche in the left lane, S2000 in the middle, I'm behind the S2000. Light turns, we hit it, I stay off if fully until the right lane opens, I floor it and motor past the S2000.
We catch one last light, Porsche in the middle lane, myself in the right. another car in the middle lane about 2 blocks up. Light turns and we both nail it! He gets about 1/2 half car on the launch, I roll into the throttle and when I finally have it down I pull past him and put about 1 car on him. He changes into my lane, goes around the other car, then back into his lane, both of us going full out. Road is wide open, no other cars/lights at this point. I run it up to 80-85, at this point I have about 1.5 car on them, and they are fading. We slow down, and the S2000 comes up behind the Porsche. I talk to the guys in the Porsche, they are very cool, and very friendly. They ask about the motor, and the side pipes, and compliment the car. They asked me about the S2000, I told them I thought it was stock, because of the way I pulled on him. We talk some more and go in and out of traffic as we pass Cherry Creek Mall. Finally at Colorado I get next to the S2000 owners, turns out he is stock, and he's on HAI and knows my car! Hopefully he'll and his bit to this story too :)
