Hi.
I need some help with taking off a 1993 integra transmission. It is the ls. I have followed the chiltons and have the engine hoisted slightly to take the wieght off the tranny mount bolts. I took the three tranny mount bolts out that bolt it to the block. Tranny has a hydro jack under it.
My question is: How do I remove the tranny from the engine? Is there a trick to getting this thing off? It is on there good. Chiltons says to pull the tranny to clear the mainshaft (I understand that). I am unable to pull on it, the whole engine moves. I tried some wood and a 4lb sledge, but again it all moved as a unit.
If anyone has any good tips, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Yeah, make sure you remove all the bolts and then pry with something between them, like a small screwdriver, around the case. There are dowel like things that hold the tranny and block together. You kind of have to go around the case in increments.

Ok, so I am missing a bolt possibly? It should be easier than it is now correct? (I could just be weak or something). I will check later today and see if I am missing a bolt, I'll let you all know. Thanks again.

Just a fair warning, if you are having troubles getting the tranny off.....good luck getting it on......

I can have a tranny out of my car in about 30 minutes, from first bolt turned to tranny on the ground, but it takes me about an hour to get it back in all by myself....its a bitch getting back in
