ok my ride hight is slamed to the fucking ground( like that when i bought it)
on omni power coilovers, my question: is there any way to tell how far im raising it up before is put the wheels and tires back on? also do i need to compress the spring?i was working on it today and i raised the collet( i guess thats what it is)? over 2 inches and put the wheels and tires on and no change in hight? i was wondering about the spring compresser because its getting pretty tough to turn that collet whith the spring pushing down on it.

sorry if thats confusing but im not a suspension guy.
thanks

with the omni's you have to undo the big ass I think its a 19 up on top and then turn the entire shock to change the height. I was looking for the instructions on their website but I cant find them.

ok, weird cus it has spanner wrenches and i loosened it and turned the shock and it went even lower, ten i took it up ar far as i could before it was getting too tought with the spring right there on it

are you talking about locking perches?

wait...you only need to loosen the very bottom one and spin the thing. is that what you're doing? if you mess with the top ones you mess with the preloaded-ness of the coilover which is bad.

yeah there is two deals you spin them but i con only spin them so far until the tension of the spring make is it tough. i turned it up until it was tought to turn( which was prolly 2 in) and it was still the same hight? maybe ill give it another go next weeknd

alright what you're probably going to need to do is take out the entire coilover and re-preload the springs. its a bad thing that you're driving around on them like this. I'm gonna try to scan the instructions and send them to you...

Can you post the instructions so I can see how their setup works, I've always been curious about the pre-loading before install and then how to adjust. I can host them if you can't.

what file do you need? jpeg? give me your email address and I'll send them sometime today.

I'm not a suspension guy either but do any of you guys know what coilovers are suppose to look like??? on my car that one aluminum piece that looks like a can is under the spring. Is it suppose to be like that or is that piece suppose to be surrounded by the spring?

ok well i dont reall get it cus i didnt loosen that nut but i did loosen the lower collet and then used the spanner wrench to spin the whole sleve?
i dunno if i messed with preload or not ? if i did mess up preload what could get fucked up ?

if you messed with the preload the shock could get fucked up.

oh then basically this whole thread doesnt matter. I have no idea how the basic coilovers work. I'd assume spin one and make it go up then tighten the other one against it so it doesnt move.

ahha, yeah. Move collars, tighten them together.

So, you don't have coilovers, you have adjustable springs.

well i did that and well rread above as to what happened

There is no way to tell how much you will raise/lower your car without putting it back on the ground aside from measuring how much you raise/lower the collars.

On adjustable springs, raising the collar HAS to raise the ride height unless you are compressing the spring because the items below the collars are static so moving the spring up has to move the car up. If you are compressing the spring there isn't any more ride height adjustment.

Maybe you have the wrong shocks or shock forks on your car and they are shorter then stock. Did you install these yourself?

no, but i moved the collar up as far as i could until the tension on the spring wouldnt let it move anymore and it didnt raise up at all ?
im going to pull it all off once i get some new shocks any recomendations on what works with omnipower springs ?

Anything will work, you want something with some performance though so they don't wear out soon. KYB AGX is a good cheap shock.

Aside from the mispelling of coileovers, and the 2 toos, what is wrong with the sentence?

also is all i need to do to lover it is loosend the lower lock and twist the shock body up? or down?
thanks
